  • Basically brand new
Color: Green Size: 128GB
So I've always been skeptical of buying refurbished items but my sister did it so I kinda thought why not? I bought this from the seller Wireless Source back on the 17th and I and received it on the 20th. So it was delivered quickly. It came in a brown box with a printed stickt label detailing what's inside. Upon opening the box, the phone box was wrapped nicely in packaging. I was surprised the seller had placed the phone into another box but super glad they did because it was STROMING! After taking the phone out of the box, first impressions was DAMN! The color is gorgeous and slick, the seller already put on screen protector. It was pretty much brand new! It had no scratches, chips, missing piant, absolutely NOTHING. It came with a charger and the pin to open the sim card area. The phone did come in dead so I immediately placed it on the charger. After about an hour give or take (I went to Walmart so came back so now exactly sure when it was fully charged) it was charged, and I turned it on with no issues. I set up the photo manually which was super simple to do after I inserted my sim card. I didn't need a code or anything it just asked me if I wanted to use the Sims card or use a new one. Once I verified that I wanted to use the old Sims card, it immediately recognized it as AT&T and asked me to click okay to switch over. Done. All my apps are on and updated. Everything is set to my liking and I've had no issues at all. I've had the phone for 2 full days now and the phone actually automatically adjust the brighteness if you are outside or in a dim environment. Just be careful because you have to readjust the brightness whenever you like it after. The phone battery life is pretty darn good. I'm currently at 45% and it's 5:07pm where I'm located. The phone has been used actively since 8am off charger. The camera quality is fantastic. Volume and sound is phenomenal. There is lots of storage and I have plenty more of exploring to do on the phone. I have let the phone die and had no problems with charging and turning back on. It will let you add a fingerprint for protection later one which I thought was cool because I didn't have to set thay up right away. Samsung is just the best for that. I bought a case to match the phone as well. I absolutely love the phone so far. The only downside, in my opinion, is that I can not add an SD card. Other then that, it's an exceptional phone. I will definitely update later if anything starts happening or I find cool stuff regarding the phone but so far so good! ... show more

  • Great choice if you "need" to upgrade without spending nearly $1000 for a new phone.
Color: Phantom Black Size: 256GB
I purchased this phone to replace my Samsung S9 phone. I've owned the S9 for about 7 years and really was content with the phone. However, it does not support 5G so it was time to replace it. But rather than spend $1000+ dollars for an upgrade I thought I would try ordered a "renew" or refurbished phone outright and keep myself open for the best mobile service. Plus, I am now a senior and may be entitled to some additional discounts. Well to make a long story short the S22 is great works very similar to my S9. I purchased the one in excellent condition and it came in brand new condition. Pretty easy to setup and copy my information from my old phone to my new phone. Also this is a great option if you want to keep your old phone. I am now ordering one for my wife (1 week later) to make sure we have the same units. I am very pleased with the purchase, the phone and the cost! ... show more

  • I'm dissapointed
Color: Green Size: 128GB
NOT FACTORY UNLOCKED! I didn't realize this immediately because it is not specifically sim-locked, and data and calling worked fine. Fast forward 6 months, I get an email from work telling me I'll be kicked off the MDM policy (work email on personal phone) unless I update my OS. Evidently it was a Verizon phone, which can only receive software updates if you have Verizon SIM card. I have spent days trying to get support from Samsung, Verizon, AT&T, Amazon, and the Amazon seller only to be told to pound sand >:[ It would seem my only option now is to take a risk with leaked / pirated firmware flashing, which I'm worried will trip the Knox security (which is the only reason I bought the phone in the first place, as Knox security was required by my employer). The phone itself is also disappointing. I started with a OnePlus 5t, which I was very happy with. When I was required to get a Samsung, I went to an A52 5g. The fingerprint sensor and face recognition were both so bad that unlocking the phone was a massive chore (something I do dozens of times a day). I suffered through this for a little while before upgrading to the S22. I very much resent the trend of under-display sensors which do not perform as well as their more visible counterparts. The S22 ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is vastly better than the optical one on the A52, but it still is inferior compared to a sensor on the back of the phone like on my older OnePlus. Heck, even my old galaxy S5 had a better fingerprint sensor. The face detection is a little better than the A52, but not as good as the OnePlus 5t. It really struggles in low light, and must be directly in front of your face. Nobody does face detection as well as Apple, but that's probably due to patent limitations (and I refuse to go back to iphone until they allow sideloading). One notable issue both the A52 and S22 suffer is an inability to detect they are in my pocket. I must deliberately place the phone with the screen facing outwards or else the fingerprint reader will constantly register false attempts against my leg (which will lock you out of using biometrics) Battery life is not impressive. Once again the 5t was better. This may not be entirely fair b/c I do use the always-on display, but on the other hand the processor should be much more efficient for how much newer it is. I mostly believe this is similar to the issue of constantly waking up in my pocket. A proper proximity sensor could have solved this rather than just using the selfie camera, which is again another example of form over function (It also seems like samsung doesn't even attempt to detect being in you pocket in order to reduce battery / ignore touch screen). ... show more

  • Good phone model, though condition doesn't match stated listing
Color: Green Size: 128GB
I did a lot of research for a replacement to my Samsung s8, and I'm pleased with the product itself. I wanted something with a good battery, good optics, plenty of storage and processing, and of course newer than my old phone so that the operating system was up to date. I'm happy with Samsung in general and this model in particular. As to this specific phone, it works great. And I know it's a used phone. But according to the listing, it was in "'excellent condition'. The screen and body show no signs of cosmetic damage visible from 12 inches away." However, the sides were visibly scuffed. I can cover it with a phone case, but it was still very surprising. I have often bought renewed phones through Amazon, but never had an experience like this. I think that either more quality control over what passes as "excellent" needs to be exerted, or the definition of "excellent" needs to change. ... show more
