I don't understand the negative reviews. Samsung has declined over the years with regard to what they offer along with the phone. You used to get a power brick and other things, and in that regard the company has gotten cheap. However, this is not my first a series. I had the a54 before this. This phone is smooth, quite fast especially when connected to Wi-Fi, the screen looks magnificent at only 50%, especially indoors. And it is incredibly well built. The size is frankly perfect. Anything bigger would make it awkward to hold. I bought a Spigen case for it. And so far the experience has been great. Set up was a breeze. This is quite common with Samsung phones. Using it and navigating it is incredibly simple because of their very simple UI. Phone calls are very clear. Speakers are great. NOTE: I had Verizon service on my old phone and moved the eSIM card over and transitioned my phone number with no issue at all. Not sure why others have had a problem, but check the eSIM card size before you buy the phone to make sure they are the same size. About twice as thick as my older phone, and quite heavy if you do a lot of reading on it. The edge of the phone's case is not rounded, so it does not sit softly in the hand (bummer). The screen has a nice brightness, but as others have said, it seems to lose a charge more quickly than I would expect. Standard, basic, no thrills phone, which is how I like it. Just wish it was lighter in weight. I had to get a newer phone in order to get a medical app on it; otherwise, I would have stuck to the old one. ... show more

Spent an hour and 15 minutes on my old phone with verizon tech support trying to activate the new A56. They could not get it to connect with the eSim or physical sim card. So, apparently this phone is NOT compatible with Verizon, as advertised. The Verizon tech said it appeared the eSim in this phone had already been used. ... show more

Wanted to upgrade from my s20 fe largely for a better camera. I wanted to be able to take macro shots which is why I chose the a56. There really was not any improvement and that alone had me disappointed, but once my UI crashed just from scrolling tiktok, my decision was made on returning it. I can't help but think that all the reviews I watched pitting it against the s25 and s25 fe were maybe the international version, which does seem to be better. I mean if you're looking to upgrade from an s7 or another A series phone, it'd probably be fine for you, but if you're looking for performance at a low price try something else ... show more
