I was pleasantly surprised that it activated with no problems. It was compatible with Safelink Wireless/Verizon networks. When updating the OS had a booting loop problem. Fixed by resetting the system and doing a fresh install. I'm very happy with the phone and recommend this purchase.

I bought this to replace my mother's A51 phone. A couple of suggestions, my mother's previous phone had display shadows on it and battery took a beating. So, change the charging time to cut out at 85 or 90% maximum. Next change display time out to 5 minutes and finally activate the Screensaver mode. This alone will help considerably, as for the phone my mom loves it and she appreciates the gorgeous display. My mother is 86 if you need context. ... show more

Spent an hour and 15 minutes on my old phone with verizon tech support trying to activate the new A56. They could not get it to connect with the eSim or physical sim card. So, apparently this phone is NOT compatible with Verizon, as advertised. The Verizon tech said it appeared the eSim in this phone had already been used. ... show more

Wanted to upgrade from my s20 fe largely for a better camera. I wanted to be able to take macro shots which is why I chose the a56. There really was not any improvement and that alone had me disappointed, but once my UI crashed just from scrolling tiktok, my decision was made on returning it. I can't help but think that all the reviews I watched pitting it against the s25 and s25 fe were maybe the international version, which does seem to be better. I mean if you're looking to upgrade from an s7 or another A series phone, it'd probably be fine for you, but if you're looking for performance at a low price try something else ... show more
