I love this phone a lot. It replaces my Moto G Play 2021 which was a great phone until it stopped working at precisely a year after purchase. I am with Cricket Wireless at present and the last 3 phones I have purchase through them did teh same thing. Stop at one year. The only reason I purchased from them was because, for example, I could get this very Samsung Galaxy A13 5G phone with my service discount for only $169.99. Not bad! Not good, either, because I figured it was crap having been made just for Cricket and has their logo designed on the back. Nopesies! Not again. (Also, I did not have the money for a good phone) And, obviously, it works with Cricket. Immediately. Now, about this phone I bought from Amazon. I love it! But already said that, so, here's why! It seamlessly transferred absolutely everything from my old Moto on the sim using its own tech and the Switch app, or whatever it is called, all but about 7 apps that I just had to download and then recognized me for the distinct human I am, a man with skills and abilities you have never even heard of. I got most of those through osmosis by allowing Xrpcok the alien who lives in my walls, continue to do so. You'd love him! Nevertheless, it was all ready in under 5 minutes with no help from me, although I did tap teh screen when needed, so, that is power! What I do not like about this phone is that it is not scratch-n-sniff technology, like Xrpcok's communication device and that it does not recognize my face well. I believe that "someone" changed the settings while I was in the Koi pond bathing, but I have no proof. But it won't recognize my face and that's a shame because it is a pretty dandy face. The other phones I have had did not seem to recognize my face, either, but that was during my peanut butter and honey phase and that delightful and selective concoction was everywhere. The phone, my hair, my BBQ apron, my artist's bib, the noise machines...I have 13, the cooler, well, everywhere...and I mean everywhere! So, No face recognition here, but that is likely just on me. It has Android 12 now, still has 39 GB left after the tons f things I put on it, I use a lot of business and art as, and runs as fast as you would hope! And being able to load up to 1TB on this bad boy (I only use that expression this time to tell you to stop using it because it is not fair to small boys at all and its usage has to stop!) is great! I won't mention all the features that are already listed in the product page because I am pretty sure you know how to read and if you read reviews, it is after reading about the product on its page and this is just your research. I did extensive research before buying this phone, more so than ever. Because I don't have the money for a new phone like this...and yes, everyone knows this is a budget phone, but an awful lot for me. It has all the bells and whistles you need...except for real ones...I love bells, don't you? The can be tiny or gigantic beasts high in a tower. I have not been in any towers lately because I have a fear of heights. But I could be coaxed up into one by cotton candy. So, start planning. Oh, and you would probably love bringing this phone up there, too, to take phenomenal shots on...no, not the landscape and views, but my petrified face and glee combined, thanks to the cotton candy. And this phone would probably capture every crystal in it! Great camera and one of the reasons I wanted this. I need a good one for my art. This does that beautifully! No great art editing included but you can download that for free. But it does have great additions in teh phone in the camera and photos similar to my Galaxy Tab S7, which was a great surprise. Mine has no rocker button for volume but two separate up and down buttons. That concerned me because NONE of teh photos I saw anywhere at all had three buttons on teh side, only two. I contacted Samsung directly, gave them all the info they needed and then downloaded an app called Samsung Tutor (I think) and they got into my phone and checked everything. Everything. They told me I had the latest version that had two separate volume buttons that made the selections much easier...and confirmed my phone was perfectly valid in every way! Fantastic! I could hear some clanking in the background on the call and got exceptionally hungry and invited my tutor to luncheon. He sadly declined and I went to Walmart to find someone who would. Barbra was there, as always, so we had Honey Buns in the parking lot. I would have preferred Marcus the stocker, but Babs in cosmetics said I am pretty. Oh, I forgot where I was. Reviewing this phone. Well, it is extremely fast, holds the charge well even under heavy use, the colors are fantastic, the images perfect, the sound in only one bottom speaker is very loud and sounds absolutely wonderful, even more so using the headphone jack, and everything else about this phone, and I am extremely picky, is great! I feel like I bought a more expensive phone and it, in a small way, reminds me of my tablet! I could care less about its plastic or somewhat bland shell build, I have a great case and protector and were it any heavier, I'd think it was a device that Xrpcok slipped in to control me when he's back inside the walls. But, maybe it is because my case is quite techy-looking, to me. I think you need one for protection. Not personal protection, although, I suppose it could be used. It is, remember, a really good, powerful phone! There's nothing wrong with this phone. It is pretty loaded and wonderful! I know people with the more overpriced Galaxy phones and this one is pretty much just as good and I recommend it! An expensive phone doesn't make one any better, just uses up more money they could have used for things like a cotton candy machine, and they are pricey for the industrial kinds. And that's the only kind to have. This phone is priced perfectly and as a pure Galaxy from Samsung, should last for years. I just hope it doesn't slide into the Koi pond if I take it outside... Giftable? Absolutely!

Considering the price, the phone is very good value. And as a whole I'm satisfied with the product. Keep in mind this is a budget line phone. The camera is fine, but won't compare with some of the flagship phones. To me the biggest shortcoming is that the wi-fi distance on this phone is a tad bit shorter than I would like. My old phone had better range and it was nothing special. That's something Samsung should not have skimped out on. Otherwise, though, the battery is very good. Gaming seems to perform well (though I didn't try any graphically robust games). Appreciate the aux port as sometimes I do like to plug in my really good headphones as opposed to my bluetooth earbuds depending on what I'm doing. Vibration is strong enough, but I do miss having a little light somewhere on the phone to let you know if you have a text or notification that you didn't notice. That's something expensive phones forget too though sometimes. It's useful to have and I feel phone manufacturers should consider that convenience. All things considered, good price for this kind of product.

Don't get caught in a high cost phone plan. This phone works on all networks and I have tried them all. Att prepaid data 15 gb $40.00 + taxes and fees per month plan with roll over, speeds about 42mbps. Ultramobile prepaid 15 gb plan $35.00 +taxes per month through T Mobile cellular close to tower 500mbps fast. Far away from tower about 250mbps. Visible prepaid on Verizon network. $40.00 no extra cost, Unlimited I'm over 50gb of data used no lower speeds. Speed test from 40mbps to 90mbps. Everywhere. All are feel effects when inside building and distance to cellular tower. I live 40 miles Southwest of Chicago limits. Was the boonies years ago. Towers are as close as 1 air mile away to 2000 feet away. I did speed test at prime time usage. All servers costs the about the same. If you use a lot of data go with Visible. If you want speed go with Ultramobile. ATT did give me 8gb more data each month so I'm getting 23 gb total. Not to bad. The phone works very good. I have had Samsung Note 1,2,3,4 phones all were good. This one is bigger then Note 4 by a little. Screen is good. I miss the pen. Used it all the time. This phone is 64gb memory nice. You can relocate your apps to MicroSD card. I use some big apps that consume a lot of space. I have detailed mapping of all USA and Canada on my SD card. Over 30gb all on sd card. The phone operation are fast. I use a weather app call Radar Omega. With 3D radar. The phone handles it well. Tons of other weather apps all running in back ground. If you want a phone that works well on all networks. This one is a keeper. Also it's only one sim card slot. I was hoping for dual Sim card. Update 8-16-2022 Samsung did update on OS. Dual sim card now work with SIM card manger app. Now you can switch services without rebooting phone. When one network is unavailable just switch and within seconds your on a line. Updated, 9-17-2022 On Visible wireless service, I just joined a party and lowered my cost to $25.00 a month Unlimited. Hurry up they are going to stop the party soon. Also just learned that the ATT service is part of the NSA and all ATT and Comcast services are routed into the NSA calls texts internet we are being spied on all the time. I bought this A13 LTE as a replacement for my wife whose Samsung J2 that was starting to have a failure making and receiving calls (a still essential feature for us in a phone (smart or otherwise)). My wife said to me when considering a replacement, "I just want a phone that works". Pretty easy criteria for any phone, but useful to information to consider when factoring in my rating and review. She uses her smartphone primarily for calls, texting, Internet browsing, social media apps and the occasional lightweight game (like Solitaire). She snaps pictures here and there with her phone but doesn't expect or require great quality from her phone's camera. No surprise, this phone works great for all of those uses and she has no complaints about its performance with any of those functions - even when she ends up with five or more applications running in the background that she forgot to close. I consider this phone a great value because of the relatively low price, her satisfaction, and a few more technical reasons. Those are: - A quality FHD display, despite not being one of Samsung's AMOLED panels - Fantastic connectivity - True Dual SIM support that includes two SIM slots AND a MicroSD slot - and unlike Samsung's could-have-been great A53 5G phone, both SIM slots work in the US. - A headphone jack. She hardly ever uses it, but I would, and not having to have a USB-C adapter or use Bluetooth headphones is still a win in my book This phone is the rarest of all phones in the U.S. in terms of its connectivity, and hence I may get one myself so I can replace phones from two different carriers with one unit, even though its CPU performance is lower and size bigger than what I would like when coming from a Galaxy S7. Overall, a recommended phone if your requirements for a smartphone are similar.

Tons of tech support and phone issues: all of this within the 1st 3 months of owning it. No physical damage, no water, just bad product and worse support. My experience... 1. Hardware failure #1 - The SIM card holder keeps coming out slightly - not all the way, but the phone cannot access it, and - if you are lucky - you get a warning message, "can't access SIM card." If you are unlucky, you get no warning and you can't receive any calls. Voice mail picks up instantly apparently. Phone does not ring for an incoming call. You can't even get the SIM out without a special tool, but the phone tries to eject it anyway. Definitely defective latching mechanism. 2. Bad Power switch. Hardware failure #2 - Phone refuses to wake up. Will stay dark. Can't get the touch screen, nothing. And then it decides to work. Worst when getting voice messages. Phone goes dark, you want to enter instructions to save or delete, but can't due to the dark screen and have to wait until the system times out and hangs up. ONLY then does the phone wake up and allow your to do anything with it again. All because the power switch doesn't work and allow me to wake up the phone. 3. Screen failure - Hardware failure #3 - Phone display will no longer light up with an incoming call. Will not light up when charging, touching the panel or changing position of the phone. Last time it almost lite up, displayed complete gibberish and then went dark again. It is now just a very expensive brick and unusable. 4. Software failure #1 - Cannot scan QR codes. Regardless of what Samsung's website or Android's info say about what the phone and OS can do, there is NO QR Code software on this phone. Samsung customer support said, " ya we hear that a lot, just DL an app"... And they think this is acceptable. 5. Software failure #2 - I needed to make a video recording to document something for work. Phone records and plays back fine. Pull the mp4 file off the phone to post it. NOTHING will work with the file to play it! Players, editors, nothing. Not even VLC can play back the mp4 recording and VLC plays back EVERYTHING! No idea what CODEC they are using but it is garbage, probably proprietary, and no one else can recognize it as a valid file format that I can find. The best part of all of this is trying to contact Samsung tech support to try and get some answers. They are saying they are having a lot of issues with phones sold on Amazon... Really??? you made it... and you are blaming the seller??? We have already confirmed it is a real Samsung product on a previous tech support call. And then, while in mid call with tech support, I get shifted to their end of call customer satisfaction survey. When I try to answer their survey, they cannot hear my responses and hang up as well. I guess they only hear 100% positive comments when they survey customers. I take the phone to a service provider Samsung contracts with and referred me to for warranty repair. A You Break I Fix center near me. They confirm problems with the phone, needs a new power switch. (at least) SAMSUNG WILL NOT SELL THEIR SERVICE PROVIDERS THE PARTS to repair the phone!!!! Not my idea of a repair center. The You Break I Fix guy refers me to Samsung service center miles away in Glendale. I call, get a voice message saying "leave a message." I do. Never get a call back. I make a special trip to the Samsung store. Am asked "do I have an appointment?" No, you won't call me back. "Oh sorry, walk ins have a 4 hour wait time. And yes it is like that every day. Make an appointment..." Better idea, get a complete refund and never buy Samsung again Crap phone, poor customer support, non existent warranty support, appalling customer surveys. Any manufacturer can make a defective product. It is how they handle it after the purchase that shows what kind of a company they are. I've seen enough. Purchase at your own risk.

The phone was working well and had a really nice screen, the performance and battery were fine. However, it dropped from a table onto a hardwood floor, while in a case, and now it says it is overheating and turns off even though it is not hot. Clearly the fall cased something to come loose inside the phone rendering it unusable as it turns off after less than 1 minute each time it is turned on even a couple of days later. My previous galaxy phone lasted for more than 6 years, with numerous falls and no issues, but their flagship line is so expensive now that I went with the less expensive line. The sturdiness of the phone is not something that shows by looking at it or in the specs, so I didn't realize it would be an issue until it was. Until that happened, I would have recommended the phone.

I have not enabled face recog. and fingerprint reader. So far, the battery in this has been unlocked and refurbished has pleasantly surprised me, so far. I read awful reviews claiming that their phone was not unlocked completely (if at all), cracked screens, scratched and dented bodies, terrible customer service issues. None of that! My Galaxy came in a Samsung Galaxy box, well protected looking brand new; not a blemish to screen or body. My former phone was a ZTE Blade, no longer available due to Trump/ China issue. I loved the the Blade, almost 6x4 inch which was great, if bulky. Big issue is unremovable/irreplacable battery. Once the battery dies...throw it away and usually lose all photos and phone numbers which were not backed up. Of course, mine were not. This phone arrived earlier in the day than expected. I popped the TMobile sim card out of my old phone and into the new and the phone prompted me every step of the way in set-up. I was prepared for having to contact friends and family to retrieved numbers....Who remembers dozens of numbers, as we once all did before cell phones? Sure enough no contacts transferred and many photos were lost. An hour after set-up an alert about updates came, I allowed and when the phone rebooted there was a question regarding retrieval of contacts and data from previous phone.....? I allowed and it's all there! Dozens of photos and 100+ phone numbers. Numbers I had lost or deleted years ago, came back. The loading of pages and games is lightening fast; for me, going from 4 to 5G. No, the cord supplied did not charge the phone after I put on the wall adapter that I had. Please to say, my ZTE after market charger cord fit and worked better than the one sent and gave a rapid charge. I haven't tried to charge with car's cord but have no worries. No, it doesn't come with product manual. It's a used phone and mine came with a little "quick start guide" which has a link to online manual at Samsung....better than hard copy and can't get lost. Honestly, I could not say enough, in praising the techs who restored this used phone and Amazon for their prompt delivery and the fantastic physical condition of this device. I, highly, recommend this purchase. Again...., so far, losing my old phone was the best thing that could have happened. I hope you find this helpful and have the same positive experiences.
