  • 8.5% faster charge for $50 is a bad deal
Style: 45W Color: Black
Using a professional watt meter to track voltage, amperage, and wattage, we compared the 25W charger that comes with the Note 10+ to this 45W charger. At no time did the 45W charger actually provide 45W. It runs at 24W at 380 mA almost the entire time while the 25W ran at 27.5W at 350 mA almost the entire time. What this suggests is that this charger is slightly more efficient and will use a little less wall power to charge. It will also likely generate slightly less heat. HOWEVER, on either charger it only takes about 20 minutes to go from dead to 85% (which is when the phone drops down to 10W on both chargers) This nets a potential time savings of one to two minutes. Please do not waste your money on this charger. For the Not 10+ you should be spending around $10-$20. We also tried plugging this into other non-note 10+ devices. None supported the higher amperage, lower wattage charging. Our assumption is that the note 10+ itself has software on-board allowing it to communicate with the charger. In regards to build quality, the charging block is larger than stock and comes with a thicker cable. While this may or may not be necessary for function, it did likely cost more to manufacture. ... show more

  • It's a misunderstood accessory.
Style: 45W Color: Black
I see a lot of complaints that come from a place of misunderstanding about how this actually works. It's a great charger just like you'd expect from Samsung. No, it's not "slow" or a scam. Here's the thing: the power output you're getting depends on the current percentage of battery you have left. You won't get the full 45w of charging ALL THE TIME and this is by design. At 0-50% or so you'll get *up to* 45w, sometimes closer to the area of 35w. After that, the charger trickles the power down to protect the battery from overcharging and overheating which makes it appear "slower." The closer you get to 100% full, the less power it will output. So if you plug it in when the battery is already at 75% you'll start out at about 20w and bypass the 45w totally. In this, you will only see the benefit on short charges when your battery is really low and this charger excels in this context. I can charge my battery from 20% to around 60% in 20 minutes. The system will also notify you in the pull-down bar if you're using it on a supported Samsung device. I'm using it on my Note 10 Plus and the charger is recognized as "Super Fast Charging 2.0." It helps if you understand exactly what you're buying and part of the confusion can be blamed on Samsung for how they marketed it to a general public who doesn't understand these things. They just say "WOW! 45w!" and that's what people believe. It's true, just not in the way you'd expect. The 45w is conditional. With that explanation out of the way, I would definitely recommend this charger if your device supports it. There's no downside. You can only gain advantage by boosting charging output at low percentages over the standard 25w charger. Yes, this is a genuine Samsung charger made in Vietnam with retail packaging and not a bootleg. I wouldn't trust anything else out there. Go for it if you can spare the extra cash. I feel that it was worth it. ... show more

  • It may be fake, looks pretty legit but I won't be using it
Style: 15W Color: Black
I ordered this directly from Amazon, interestingly, it says the item is not eligible for return when I tried to request one on the website. The charger was put in a bag directly into the box, there is no insert of any kind. The charger may be legit or a very close copy. I marked the one I ordered from Amazon with orange stickers so you can see the difference. The font on the front of the charger is slightly different. The body and hardware of the charger appear to match the older generation but not the current generation. The cable although have all the same markings, is different from the original, and the USB logo is in a lighter color. Also, notice the color difference between this product and a wire charger I ordered directly from Samsung. This item may or may not be legit, I personally wouldn't be using it. ... show more

  • This seems to be the same charger that came with my Note 10 +
Style: 45W Color: Black
Do not buy this thinking you are going to get even better speeds than the one that came with the official boxed version of the Note 10 +. It's the same charger.

  • 2 amp model seems to be getting the most bad reviews here
Style: 15W Color: Black
This is for the 15 watt 2 amp model. The 25 watt 2.2 amp model seems to be getting the most bad reviews here. I obsessively inspected each detail of the charger and cable for signs it is counterfeit. I found none. I even went so far as to drive an hour to the only best buy I could find that has these I'm stock. Bought one there. They assured me they use Samsung as their distributor for all of their Samsung products. The packaging matched the packaging used for this charger. Basically a black rectangular box (samsung) with the charger and cable inside a tiny zip lock type bag. If it is a counterfeit it's the best counterfeit I've seen. To the point where they probably would have lost money making it. ... show more

  • Fake
Style: 15W Color: Black
The item I received was definitely NOT a Samsung product. There was no Samsung box or packaging, it was sent in a Ziploc bag, nothing else. No model number, nothing. I bought this to replace the fast charger that came with my s9, (my puppy thought it'd make a great chew toy) and I know what the charge cable felt like. The one I received felt different and wouldn't even come out of the wall adapter easily, I had to pull it out with force by the base of the cable and the price that hides the USB end of the cable came right off. Cheap garbage, buyers beware. Luckily Amazon refunded me but it just means I'll have to get it directly from Samsung's website to get a genuine product. ... show more
