When I thought about it they worked out for my bedroom very well. I sleep nights and these blackout curtains block the light excellently for me. The picture was taken during the daytime with no lights on in the room. These gray curtains aren't fully black out, but they do block some light. They keep the street lights from coming through the window at night and they block enough light to let us sleep comfortably in the early morning hours. The quality of the fabric is nice. All I needed were curtains that truly, completely, and thoroughly block out sunlight. Spoiler alert — these are the ones! Some reviews mention that the curtains don’t hold back sunlight well, but here in Chicago, they do an excellent job. You know, it can even get chilly here, and these curtains keep the heat in as well. Having shared the main point, which is that they fulfill their intended purpose, let’s take a look at their appearance. And let’s even feel them! The material is pleasant to the touch — although that’s not particularly important since we won’t be touching them often. Additionally, it’s thick, as expected from blackout curtains. I ordered the orange curtains for our great room. I wanted a fun color. It’s a pretty pumpkin color. It helps a bit in keeping the afternoon heat out. It’s not a black out curtain but certainly helps somewhat. I didn’t need/want black out. They are very soft. Did I mention they are pretty.

The curtains are the color pictured and the size pictured, and for what I need them for (night-time privacy for the guest bedroom/home office), they work just fine. They're great for privacy at night, as they block people from seeing inside, but they are absolutely not blackout curtains. There is no liner.
