  • Wish I could give this 0 stars
I just moved into an apartment complex with these installed. Dries fine. Runs fine. I wouldn't know about efficiency, but what gives it zero stars is a STUPID 30-second chime at finishing that you can't turn OFF! Running this near bedtime is out of the question, and I am seriously debating whether I want to risk breaking something unintentionally by going on a hand-tool hunt for this thing's speaker--to break that INTENTIONALLY. If you value your sanity, do not buy this--or at least make sure your laundry room is well separate from your living space. Like, the opposite side of a 4 bedroom house, separate. ... show more

  • Fast and Musical
I'll start with what I love the most about this drier, and that is the auto sensor. It knows when my clothes are dry. I set it too auto and leave. I come back and my clothes are dried to the level I had set them to. I stick my head in the drier and look for the sensors, I don't see any lol . How it knows, I have no idea but it fascinates me that it can distinguish between very / more / normal and damp. And it so quick, 45 minutes (my old drier sometimes took upto two hours) for an average size load. And unlike my old drier that had that old buzzer sound that went Bzzzzzzz, this Samsung electric drier plays a cute musical tune to let you know that your clothes are ready. Now if drier could only fold the clothes..... Maybe the next model I purchase from Samsung in a decade or so will have that feature. The photo below are the family refusing to fold and from delivery day. ... show more

  • Horrible - my space heater could dry clothes faster
I sometimes have to dry our clothes twice to get them dry enough after following instructions and not overloading the machine. There are other reason this machine is a waste of money. We have the extra capacity dryer as we have larger blankets and comforters that we wash regularly. Ha! Those items, which usually don’t spin dry very well (see my review of the companion Samsung washing machine) turn themselves into cocoons of wet fabric after five minutes even with the use of tennis balls to help keep things moving in the dryer. So every five to ten minutes I need to go to the dryer, take out the blanket, give it a good shake and return it. If you have mobility issues, arthritis or are an older individual with weak strength, this is not the dryer for you. Along those same lines, I have dryed three or four throw size blankets, again with tennis balls to keep things moving around, and usually one of them remains stuck in the back of the dryer, also in a cocoon of wetness that somehow just never wanted to join the party with the rest of the throws in the dryer. This is after I shook them out from the washer before carefully placing them into the dryer so as not to load the dryer with a bunch of lumpy throw blankets. Also, I use the fluff or air only cycle on our dryer to dislodge dog hair from the crib size flat sheets I use to cover our dog’s various beds throughout the house during shedding season prior to putting those items into the wash. The first time I used this Samsung dryer to do this, I used blind confidence and after the fluff cycle in the dryer, put them into the Samsung washer. Big mistake: first the washer threw the unbalalnced loand error (again, see washer review) and when I opened the washer to relocate the soaking wet crib size flat sheets, my hand came out covered in wet dog fur. After a look around the wet sheets in the washer, I pulled out at least five clumps of wet dog fur which the washing machine kindly formed for me in the wet sheets. The second time I tried to fluff the dog hair off the sheets before washing, I checked the lint trap which remained clean after a 20 minute fluff (with tennis balls) and for fun, I took these crib size flat sheets outside to give them a good shake and ended up completely covered in dog hair (note to self: stand up wind in the future). Our previous dryer removed 80% of all fur which I could determine by pulling out the lint trap. This dryer might remove eight strands of dog fur. ... show more
