we are packing for our first trip with these suitcases. so I can't judge the sturdiness, yet. they are several pounds lighter than our previous large bags. The sides seem thin, but as I said I don't know how well they will hold up, yet. They roll very well on carpet and hard floors. They are not lined. Both sides have zipper covers. they are about 2-3 inches taller than our others and that will present a problem in our car trunk edit of previous review I used the suitcase on our latest cruise. I liked the ease of packing and lightness. the sides and interior appear flimsy, but I am willing to accept that if it holds up. I was able to pack my usual cruise clothes, etc and still have weight allowance to spare. As feared they are slightly wider than our old suitcases and had to be stowed in the trunk of our hybrid differently. All was well when we put our bags out at the end of the cruise. When we got home the slider (the part that actually operates the zipper) had broken. In 85 years of using zippers on clothes, luggage, etc I have never had a slider break, ever. Not the pull tab. The slider. I don't expect the suitcase had abnormal handling leaving the ship or by the airlines. the suitcase has a one year warranty, but I am able to return it to Amazon for an exact replacement. As I said I like the suitcase, just not this one.

It's a Sam tonight so you should expect top quality. It's excellent that this is rated for international carry-on sizes so that can offer peace of mind for all you international jet setters. I like the sturdy exterior and that this carry-on suitcase can still expand with the external zipper. Speaking of zippers, they also double down as a lock mechanism but still offer you the ability to put a small travel padlock on them. All. The zippers function silky smooth, internal and external. Inside there is a multitude of storage options including mesh, pockets and straps. For securing some of your more delicate clothing items. Inside. You'll also find a pocket for a power bank that attaches to a USB cable that'll allow you to use it externally once the suitcase is all zipped up. Very clever feature! I can see this working really well for somebody who travels a lot for work. The 360° movement Wheels are awesome but seem to be a standard function and suitcases. So glad they're keeping up. The pull handle glides smoothly up and down and has several intermediate lengths depending on your preference.

Note the same Samsonite...I understand trying to achieve lighter weight, but I feel the quality may have been compromised as a result. While there are many features with this luggage, including spinners that do glide well, overall the price is not justify based on quality. Some of the design seems counterintuitive and instructions are poor or non existent/not provided. If reduction of weight is a goal...then why equip with USB port which requires a power bank (added weight). To use, one must place and connect power bank in pocket provided inside the suitcase. While this avoids searching for outlets, you still have to search for charging cord to connect on the exterior. Maybe during travel emergencies or mass cancelation of flights this feature could be useful, but the the hassle of searching for outlets has been minimized through charging stations that seem readily available. After first use, zipper broke, requiring me to use strap around this carry on to keep items secured and contained. I may have had more tolerance if this carry on had not been $275 which is definitely more appropriate than the retail $500 price which is laughable. Personally, broken zipper does not equate to durability. Also, the overall design is questionable as result of thinner but weirder shape. The width makes stowing odd, under certain seats. Additionally, because of the piece's lack of real rigidity in form, it does not feel all that sturdy. While the glossy finish is looks aesthetically pleasing out of the box, it is short lived. Scratches and marring are very evident after use. This makes the carry on look like it was dragged behind a 18 wheeler. Sadly, I can say I am underwhelmed and Samsonite did not meet my expectations.
