Took this case on a trip to Europe for a couple of weeks, had total of 6 flights, 2 trains, 2-3 buses. The shell withheld pretty well, expected some scratches, so that's ok, and it actually scratches less than i expected. I was using a lot of public transport like 'Hotel -> Train Station 10min walk --> Airport another 10min walk' and after doing it a few times noticed that the pair of wheels on the long handle side are already noticeably wearing (and unevenly). I think couple of years of twice-a-year travel like that will require replacing a pair. Overall happy with a purchase at $135. Simple organization on the inside, nothing too excessive, nothing is amiss. A simple hint for prolonging the zipper life. When you close the lid and start zipping the case close, before moving both zippers over the 2 corners onto the long side (where the tsa lock is located), flip the case upright because when it's on its side, the two lids may be shifted in relation to one another and can cause the zipper to misalign. Very nice set of luggage. The small one weighs 6.5 pounds; mid-size weighs 8.3 pounds; large weighs 10.9 pounds. Zippers work well. Construction is very nice and they roll and spin as they should. The locks seem flimsy but they work. The rubber handles lay flat but are not comfortable. I wrap the handles with neoprene wraps. Each bag is capable of expansion but with weight limits and baggage costs this feature figure better for ground travel than airlines. The set nests for easy storage. Side by side they take up a considerable amount of room, so they will put an average-sized trunk to the test. ... show more

Upon reviewing numerous hard shelled suitcases, I finally landed on this one from Samsonite. I bought 2 in total - one for myself and the other for my girlfriend. For clarity, one was delivered perfectly and works well, so this review is specifically for the damaged one. As you can see in the photos, the seams along the top of the suitcase are ripping, and this is how it originally came to me. Unfortunately, I did not notice this until preparing for my first trip with the suitcase (which is when I took the photos). By the time I got home from my travels and had time to figure out the return process, I was outside of my return window from Amazon. I had to drive the suitcase to a Samsonite store, where they said they would either repair or replace the suitcase. Being that it was originally shipped to me damaged and I had absolutely nothing to do with it ripping, I requested that they please replace it. They gave me no specific answer and sort of blew me off in asking that. Well, they shipped it back to me today, and it's the same one. You can see their "attempt" to fix the seams in 2 of the photos, which looks like they just took some hot glue to hold it together. Had I known they were going to do that, I would have just done it myself! Not only is this a really poor experience, but I'm not even sure how long their "fix" is going to hold up if the luggage is thrown around in the airport. For being a reputable company in this department, I'm very disappointed in their quality and their lack of professionalism. Had they apologized for the original flaw and replaced it, I would have gladly shared that story and recommended them as a company that cares about their customers and the overall service they provide. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will not be recommending their products anymore, and I will be sharing my negative experience with others. ... show more

This suitcase is big and is of good quality. It certainly is not a Rimowa or Tumi, but for our travel is sturdy enough and does the job. Rimowa has very light weight suitcases, which barely add anything to a scale. This one is not as light, but also not as heavy as no-name or low end brands. We had it for two years now roughly and it travelled a couple of times over the Atlantic - it is holding up great so far. ... show more

Packed right with just what you need, this should last you for a six day/five night trip easy. I got this back in June. And it's been on eight flights thus far. It has already gotten a incision-type dent on one side probably from baggage handling in general, but it's been pretty durable otherwise. Haven't used the expanded feature yet. One side is a zippered cover which makes it nice to prevent articles from shifting too much in transit. Overall satisfied with this bag. May get a bigger one, but holding off for right now. ... show more
