The grooves help the clean dishes stand up, the silverware has a spot to stand while draining. The water collects under the drainer to drip right into the sink. The utensil holder is awkward the sections are big and open so the spoons, forks don’t stand up, they fall down. The frame of the utensil section keeps falling off the base. I do like the feature of being able to separate the top section from the base so it’s easy to clean and dry. And there’s an actual water drain spout. Who ever invented this is a genius. A collapsible dish tray. I have a family of 3. So 3 dishes 3 bowls 3 cups 3 spoons, knives and forks and some extra things and I'm good.👍🙂 need more counter space just fold down and put it to the side or underneath the sink. 😀
