In the first picture I had applied the balm to the top left square already - it did darken this bag slightly but I used it on the two others that were lighter leather and it didn't darken them noticably. I think the difference was that they had been taken care of and were not as dried out. The balm was easy and pleasant to apply - I used a microfiber cloth and then buffed it with some horsehair brushes. I don't know if that actually did anything, but it was fun. The balm smells amazing. It's very subtle and doesn't linger. It isn't irritating on your skin. The leather seems softer and smoother. I bought this initially to put on a leather bag that I had recolored. I let the color dry for a few days and then put this on it and it went on wonderfully and gave it a nice finish. I also put it on a new to me vintage leather briefcase. That was in pretty good shape already, but it buffed over a few scratches and worn places by the handle really nicely. The bag in the first picture - I have had this bag for over 16 years. My dad picked it up for me at Goodwill. I used it as a school bag daily in college, and as a diaper bag with all of my five kids. Since I got it I have never done any type of leather care for it. I didn't know that was a thing. You can see that is was pretty scuffed up and uneven, and there were some deeper cracks on the handles in areas. The treatment definitely revitalized the leather, it looks even better in person. I don't usually write reviews - I hope this is helpful to someone! I thought it was kinda fun and very satisfying, actually. Now I want to find more treat with it.

My leather ottoman was starting to look dry and scratchy. I bought other leather cleaners and conditioners and they never did the trick. What my ottoman needed was a deep conditioning salve. I am so happy I found this! My ottoman doesn’t look thirsty anymore it looks brand new! I used the whole small jar on it. I am def going to buy this again when it dries up again. Also love the cute packaging and how it’s all natural.

I've been looking for good Saddle Soap and I guess I've found it. I needed to clean up and restore a very old and dirty binoculars case. It was in sorry state and was headed to the trash heap but the Binoculars were still perfect. I got this and started to work. The Old leather case now looks great. I'm so very pleased with the results. I'm thinking of giving this as a gift to my brother. He'll love the vintage set and the quality. Thanks, D

I have used similar "Saddle Soap" and leather conditions that once might find next to shoe polish at the grocery store. This product is much better that the big box and grocery store brands. The metal tin is a threaded screw top instead of a unthreaded pull to open top. The screw top provides a much better seal. The grocery store competitors often dry out in six months or a year. I used this product on a high end top grade leather couch purchased at Room & Board. The couch had obvious signs of fading and some surface abrasions. The photo in the review was taken after applying the product to half of the couch arm. The improvement was immediate but some of the improvement goes away when the product dries. This couch has not been conditioned in more than 10 years. Perhaps it will take a few applications. This product is easy to apply and did not stain the couch. It does not work miracles but it certainly improves leather and does so at a reasonable price point with little effort required. This product is made in China. I would buy this again.

I have a Jonathan Hart bag that I absolutely love that I had stopped carrying because the leather was looking so bad. It was starting to peel and look very dingy. I bought this leather condition and put it on with an old cloth. My bad now looks brand new! It was super simple to use, I rubbed it on the handle and all of the leather areas on the bag and let it sit for a few hours. I was shocked by how nice the leather looks now. It not only restored the color back to the leather but it looks moist and there is no peeling or worn appearance to the leather now. I am amazed how well it works! Great value and you only use a small amount. This container should last a long while and store well.
