I'd like to say first that the aroma is amazing. It cleanses wonderfully with or without a washcloth and leaves you feeling fresh. I even like to layer it with colognes that have a similar aroma. I find the price point very high for a body wash even though it is a wonderful product. The first time I ordered a bottle it was $36. A few weeks later I was looking again and noticed a 10 percent coupon on Amazon which I was excited about... only to be disappointed the price had been raised to $40 with a 10 percent discount bringing it back down to the old price of $36. I felt a bit misled with that pricing strategy. It is nice however that you can order a refill that is equal to two bottles for a bit of a discount. To comment on the bottle, I feel like it needs a bit of a redesign as I have big hands and getting my hand positioned under the pump isn't as easy as it should be so I have to pick up the bottle and tilt it. Overall I recommend Salt & Stone Body Wash and with a few improvements I would change my rating to 5 stars.

I originally bought the Salt & Stone Body Wash (Bergamot & Hinoki) to “try something new” after using Aesop and Nécessaire—and it genuinely holds its own. This isn’t your typical soapy body wash; it’s more like a skincare treatment that just happens to cleanse. Starting with the formula: it’s sulfate-, paraben-, and dye-free, enriched with niacinamide, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and seaweed extract. There are even probiotic ferment-derived extracts (yes, bacteria—don’t panic) that help support the skin barrier. The result? Skin that feels clean yet never stripped—no tightness, no residue—just soft, hydrated, and balanced skin. Rare for a “natural” body wash. The scent is equally impressive. Bergamot & Hinoki is not your ordinary citrus; imagine a crisp morning in a Japanese forest—fresh, woody, and understated. It doesn’t dominate, but it lingers elegantly. My teenage daughter described it as “the smell of someone who has their life together.” I can’t argue with that. First, I do love the scent of the soap. The fragrance is lovely. The design of the bottle and pump dispenser is low, however. Make this product easier to open and get into, and don’t make it hard to pump. I use exfoliating shower gloves and it took a lot of soap to get a good lather. The soap itself is more fragrance than nutrient cleaning moisture, and I don’t think antioxidants is enough to compensate for the lack of moisture. Moving this to the guest bathroom sink and out of my shower.
