  • Great Product
I have bees using this for years and it disappeared from local shelves. So glad to have found it. I use it to do my eyebrows. Once it is heated it works fast.

  • Good BUT Practice first!!
I bought this wax to use on my daughter's eyebrows for the first time. I did read the instructions and I even watched a couple of youtube videos before I started. It did work in some areas and some areas it did notdo as well. My daughter is very skiddish so I only had one shot. I heated the wax for 90 seconds. I repeated this a couple of times but the wax was not getting hot enough. By the time I took it out of the microwave and walked over to my daughter to put it on it was already hardening and was very difficult to put on. Several days later I watched more videos and I ended up heating the wax more than the time before and there was a big difference. The wax was able to go on smooth and it did work much better the second go round. I would recommend this but honestly for a first time eye brow waxing it might be beneficial to practice on an area that is not on the face! Over all I am pleased with this purchase. ... show more

  • Just pluck, it's easier.
If you have patches of visible hair on your chin, lip, sideburns, etc... this is a decent product. If you're trying to remove stray regrowth from your eyebrows, just use tweezers. If you want to reshape your eyebrows from severe grow out, either carefully tweeze them or see a professional, because this is not the product for that. I washed and dried my face before using this, to ensure no oil or dirt got in the way of the wax. This wax gave me problems from the start. When I opened it, it was hard as a rock. I heated it in the microwave on high for 90 seconds, as per the instructions. When I pulled it out, it was still hard as a rock. I put it in for another 30 seconds and when I checked it again it had a little give, but wasn't even stirrable, let alone spreadable. This presented a bit of a problem, as the instructions are adamant that you not heat it for more than 2 minutes. I decided to just use my judgement and heated it for another 30 seconds--at that point it was chunky, but I could see the bottom had melted. Another 30 seconds (3 minutes of microwave time) and it was completely liquid in some spot while chunky in others. I didn't want to ruin the wax from overheating, so decided to work with it. I hoped stirring the less melted areas into the very melted areas would even it out and create a spreadable consistency. I was wrong. Rather than the hot liquid areas melting the softened chunks of wax, the melted wax cooled and clung to the big chunks. I never achieved a uniform, spreadable consistency. The little paddle is supposed to be heat sensitive so you know when it's a good temperature to put on your face. DO NOT TRUST THIS. IT DOES NOT WORK. The little "ready" warning never faded away and I'm very glad I patch tested this on my arm, because if I had used it on my face it would have burned me really bad. After letting it cool a little more, I tested it on a larger section of my face: my sideburns. The wax itself worked pretty well in this area. It didn't grab all the hair, but I attributed that to the peach fuzz which would be difficult for any wax to grab on to. The little paddle is a nightmare to use. It's too small to comfortably hold and the wax clings to it like hardened cement, leaving the application thick and goopy. If I tried to spread it thinner, it just clung to the paddle and never stuck to the hair on my face. The thick application wasn't much of a detriment in this larger area, though it took a couple passes to get most of the hair off. Then I tried to do my eyebrows. I have some pretty gnarly grow out, since it's been a while since I've been able to shape them. I used the orange stick because the paddle would be far too big on such a small area. Trying to spread this wax with the orange stick was a nightmare. It clung to the stick worse than the plastic paddle. It would not spread in a thin, even consistency. The thick glops that did stick to my skin didn't stick to the hair and I only got one or two hairs at a time. After my eighth attempt, I gave up. The wax also cools very quickly. I had to keep running back and forth between my bathroom (where the mirror and lighting are) and the kitchen (where the microwave is) to reheat the wax. It never fully melted to reach a usable consistency. Cleaning it up was a nightmare, since it had to literally be scraped off the paddle and orange stick. Honestly, just plucking would have been easier and faster. Even if you want to set up a mirror in your kitchen (or a microwave in your bathroom, which I don't recommend), you'll have to keep stopping every 5-10 minutes to reheat the wax. You're not saving yourself any time with this. If you're really serious about wanting to wax at home, invest in a wax warmer that will keep your wax melted at the right temperature. The only good thing in this kit was the aftercare lotion, which did help ease the sting a little quicker than if I didn't use it. I might buy that on its own. ... show more

  • Used for years! Really great product but large learning curve.
I have been using this stuff for YEARS. I am an upper-middle class 30 something, but find it ridiculous to spend $$$ every few weeks to do my eyebrows. My hair grows fast and is very thick and dark, I needed something for clean up and get my brows shaped like once a year. You can get multiple uses out of this (I usually get three to four). Throw out the guide packet and the wooden stick - those do nothing. It used to come with mini tweezers and I’m sad it doesn’t anymore. You will need tweezers for leftover hairs. The wax takes forever to heat up the first time you use it. Put it in the microwave and heat in 30 second increments. You want the wax to make a pool of melted wax in the can. You want at least half of the wax to be melted. Sometimes you have to take the paddle and press into the wax and it’s nicely melted on the underside. Press in and melt some more. You need to be able to have access to a lot of wax and it hardens quickly in the pan. Prep the skin. Clean, no makeup. Use a spoolie and push up your brows so the underside (where I start) is clear of hairs you DONT want to wax. Take the paddle and dip it in to get a little chunk of wax. Rotate the paddle back and forth to kinda cool it, and you want to sort of “puddle” the wax on one side of the paddle. That puddle will be the puddle you drag across your eyebrow, starting inward and moving outwards. You use the puddle to get it closer to the brow itself but it gives you a bit more control to get it on the hairs you want, not the skin below the hairs. Forget the little “ready” word. It does nothing. Press the slightly sticky wax into your hairs just to make sure it’s on there. Let that dry, repeat on the other side. Your puddle will be on the opposite side of the paddle because when you bring your opposite hand up, that puddle is now meeting the underside of your brow. Press inwards to outwards. I rip my wax pieces and put all in the top of the lid, then dump all pieces into the trash. Put the lid back on and you’re good to go for a few more uses. Tips: the wax can be runny. I have definitely dripped wax onto my lashes and that was NOT FUN. Take your time but also be quick or it will drip. Try to leave or add some wax on the “end” of your wax smear, so you have something to grab and rip. Rip on one big motion, like you’re ripping your ex boyfriend out of your brain. Rip in the opposite direction of hair growth. Better to start small and get more confident. I’ve definitely waxed off half my brow before. Hope this helps! Xoxo ... show more
