I have not started my flooring yet, I have to catch up on a couple other projects that I am working on so I can get my floors clear. These tools are well made and I like the fact that they are orange! I think it will be easy to keep an eye on them when I go to set them down. It comes with everything I should need for installing new flooring in my kitchen. One of the most impressive things i think about this kit was the fact that the tape measure is in both inches and decimels, broken down into 10ths!! You typically have to buy a tape measure specifically for that and is not standard on tape measures. So not only will it be useful for my flooring project but other applications as well. I always had to do the math before when I had to do something listed as 8.6" or some other decimel point!! Great KIt!

To be clear, this is a DIY kit. While the product page says it is also good for the professional, it is not. A professional installer might keep the wedges and possibly the pull bar. The rest would be in the trash. But if you are a DIYer, this is a nice little kit for the price. The tap block is short and will probably cause some frustration. The pull bar is narrow and might cause dents if you get too aggressive. The contour gauge is adequate for a 10-inch plastic gauge. The wedges are nice, and you get 40. Hopefully you don't need 40, but nice to have. The double sized wall expansion spacers are very nice and are well designed to stay in place. The mallet, while well built, is small. It will do the job but definitely DIY only. The tape measure is an insult. To be blunt, if you don't own a better-quality tape measure, you probably shouldn't be installing floors. Not even as a DIY project. I can honestly say this is the lowest quality tape measure I've ever seen. I have a tool wall of shame, and this tape measure will go on the wall of shame. But if you consider the price for this bundled kit and what you get in the bundle (not counting the very cheap tape measure) it is a good kit for a DIYer.

We've recently begun the daunting task of redoing the flooring in our home. My husband is a carpenter by trade so naturally we just figured we'd save installation money and have him do it. I snagged him this kit thinking it may be of some help to him. He was incredibly impressed at how helpful this actually was. The mallet is super durable and will definitely last a long time and be used for other items. The stoppers to keep a nice gap for your trim works incredibly well. Every bit of this set was used and loved. I highly recommend for those doing their floors!

This is a useful set of flooring tools and a better deal than similar kits from the big box stores. The main value for me are the different shims and wall spacers which are more substantial and useful than the cheap little ones at the hardware store. The plank tapping block is a bit small but still useful. I always use several, so it will get used in the rotation. Same with the pulling tool, which is nice and trim, which is good for certain situations where the heavy duty tool won’t fit or isn’t required. The hammer is a bit smaller than I like, though. The contour gauge is useful and a strong reason to get this kit. Overall, a reasonable deal to supplement your regular install tools like a longer tapping block and heavy rubber mallet.

I got this in anticipation of redoing the floors in out house. Compared to an old kit we had, this one has more pieces, better spaces, and the important tools like the tapping block, pull tool and hammer feel much more solid and better made. The contour gauge will come in handy for some odd angles we have to cut. It seems to have everything you'll need for your weekend installation project and at a decent price for the quality of the tools

Pros: The hammer is of good quality and weighty enough for flooring installation. The tapping block is very nice, with two contoured edges and a solid, comfortable handle. The pull bar is sturdy and has felt pads on the bottom to prevent scratching the flooring. Comes with nice, locking contour gage (extra, not always that useful). Additionally comes with two types of flooring spacers and a tape measure. Cons: Cheap tape measure. Overall this kit is a bit pricey for what it is, but better quality than some of the other cheaper versions out there.
