I've bought several rolls of these Velcro (double-sided hook) cable ties and I use them Everywhere. I keep a partial roll in my backpack just in case I need one when out in the field. They grip well, they're highly reusable, and they can be cut to whatever length needed with normal scissors. If I had to pick something to complain about, I would say that the bag the rolls come in can break down long before the contents does. (I keep them in their bags so that they don't collect dust or whatever) from the environment.
