  • Just Plain Fun!
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Day 1 Edition
Saints Row seems to be the center of a lot of attention. It is indeed pretty buggy, but beyond that people are running away with the issues the game does have because the series changed it's tone a bit. I personally think the game is a blast! Just an open world sandbox where mayham ensues, where there's a ton of content and customization around every corner. They dont really make a whole lot of games like this anymore, where you can just mess around and have a blast. I do think the developers care about their product, just like so many devs before them they were forced to rush and release the product as is. If you think a developer wants to release a game with it's fair share of bugs, I would think again. That being said I haven't run into anything game breaking, and I'm sure the issues will get patched out. If you're like me and you aren't constantly thinking how the world is changing, and allegedly betraying you, I think you'll really have a good time with this one. ... show more

  • Saints Row, but grown up
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Day 1 Edition
Honestly, I loved this better than the more recent SR entries. At some point it felt like they went from "GTA but unhinged" to just trying to be as wacky and absurd as possible, which, while fun, got tiring for me personally. I was worried I wouldn't like having a new cast, but honestly I love these characters more than the original crew: after the first cutscene with them I was already set to consider them family, and it only improved from there. It's still SR, but closer to SR2: still irreverent and often absurd fun, but more serious and down-to-earth than SR3 or especially SR4. Coincidentally, SR2 is my favorite of the originals as far as story goes. The game doesn't hold your hand too hard and lets you get right into things pretty quickly, which is really nice. My only complaint is the main story is a little short and easy to plow through quickly (and I want even more interactions with my crew!), but that's easy to manage just by doing more side missions and generally tooling around between big story beats. The setting is gorgeous and easy to get lost in and just explore, and I've found myself purposely traveling on foot just to take things in more than once--and I don't even especially like deserts, at that. Gameplay is pretty much what I expect from a SR title. Can't say it's anything new and innovative, but I didn't feel like it needed to be anyway. All in all, the reboot feels like SR dialing itself back down and growing up a little bit without losing its roots, all with a great new crew to start over with. I'd love it if they continued with a sequel. (Oh, and couch coop would be nice, but I know that's a bit of a pipedream.) ... show more

  • An Epic Open-World Adventure with Crazy Customization Options!
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Day 1 Edition
As a fan of the Saints Row franchise, I was eagerly waiting for the Day 1 edition to arrive on my doorstep. And let me tell you, it was worth the wait! The game takes place in Santo Ileso, a fictional city located in the American Southwest, where you can take on the role of the leader of the Saints and create your own criminal empire. The game offers a ton of new features and customization options, which makes it stand out from the previous titles in the series. First of all, the graphics in this game are absolutely stunning. The city of Santo Ileso is beautifully rendered, with tons of detail and an incredible attention to detail. The environments are diverse, ranging from the gritty and urban downtown area to the sprawling desert outskirts. The characters are also beautifully crafted, with tons of personality and unique attributes. But what really sets this game apart is the crazy amount of customization options that are available. You can create your own character from scratch, choosing everything from their physical appearance to their personality traits. You can also customize your vehicles, weapons, and even your gang's hideout. And with the new character creator, you can create a truly unique and original character that reflects your own style and personality. The gameplay is also incredibly fun and engaging. The missions are varied and interesting, and there's a ton of side content to keep you entertained for hours. The combat is fast-paced and intense, with a wide range of weapons and abilities at your disposal. And the driving mechanics are smooth and intuitive, with a huge variety of vehicles to choose from. Overall, Saints Row Day 1 Edition is an incredible addition to the series, and it's definitely worth the investment. The graphics are stunning, the customization options are endless, and the gameplay is engaging and fun. If you're a fan of open-world games with a crazy sense of humor and tons of customization options, then this game is definitely for you! ... show more

  • Wait for a sale!
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Day 1 Edition
Unlike most people, I didn’t experience any crazy game breaking bugs. BUT, this SR was definitely not as good as its previous ones & the dialogue can definitely be cringe at times, but I feel like it was more cringe in the beginning of the game. The beginning of the game was truly boring & I almost was about to sell it but then once you became a Saint, that’s when the story for me started to get good & more entertaining. The combat is fun (but the guns can shoot on their own sometimes), the driving isn’t that bad like people are claiming, and the world isn’t as empty as people claim. HOWEVER, the ending was a bit….bizarre and lacking in some areas. Plus the game was quite short & I’d give it a 4/5 if they didn’t lock a mission just to FORCE you to GRIND & do some stupid tedious side content to prolong the game. All in All, the game had way more potential but Volition kinda blew it so if you wanna try out this game save your money & get it on sale when the bugs are fixed. ... show more
