I picked up this bird house craft kit for a weekend project with my niece and it turned out to be a real treat for both of us. The wooden pieces fit together nicely and the instructions were easy enough that we didnt get stuck or frustrated, which made the whole build feel fun instead of tricky. Painting the two story house with the included brushes and colors was honestly one of the best parts, she got so giggly picking out patterns and I got to sneak in some creative ideas too. It felt like quality wood, not flimsy stuff that bends or breaks, and seeing the finished house on our porch made us both proud. We even talked about putting a little perch near the entrance and maybe a tiny welcome sign lol. Cleanup was easy and we ended up with lots of laughs and chats while we worked, which was more than I expected from a simple kit. This has become something we talk about doing again with my nephew next time he visits. It was a nice mix of hands on building and lighthearted fun, and I think its worth checking out if you like projects that let you make something real together.

My daughter (6) and I built this SainSmart Jr. 2-story wooden birdhouse together in one cozy Saturday afternoon, and it was the perfect parent-kid project. Everything comes pre-cut and pre-drilled, so no saw needed—just a screwdriver, hammer, and a little glue (included). The wood is smooth pine, smooth with no splinters, and the pieces fit together perfectly with zero frustration. She hammered most of the nails herself (with a little guidance), painted it bright pink and purple with the included paints and brushes, and was beaming when we hung it outside the next day. It’s actually sturdy enough to survive wind and rain; three months later it’s still looking great and we’ve already had sparrows checking it out. Comes with two hanging ropes, a little perch, and even a clean-out door. The box doubles as a carrying case, so cleanup was easy. Only tiny note: the paint pots are small, but plenty for one coat, but we grabbed extra acrylics for a second coat. Hands-down the best woodworking/craft kit we’ve done. She learned real hammer skills, felt like a “builder,” and now checks “her” birdhouse every morning. Perfect STEM gift for 5-10 year-olds! 🐦�🏠

Super cute bird house. Well-thought-out kit with high quality wood. Mostly solid pine. Clear instructions, pre-drilled holes, and pre-sanded pieces of wood make this easy to handle and put together. Could be done solo by older children, our toddler needed just a little help with identifying the pieces for each step. All the holes line up perfectly, the screws can be driven in by hand without a lot of effort. The paint is a nice addition, but it's not the best quality for an outdoor project. I decided to use some weather resistant oil based stain to make it last longer. If it's on a covered porch or patio, the paints will be just fine. Good value for the money, this is a fun project for teaching patience, focus, and skill building.
