As a grandmother, I have had to install numerous locks on cupboards over the years. This one is by far the best! I wish they'd have had these when I had my daughter 40 years ago. Easy to install. Work amazingly well. When the grandchild is gone, it has a simple push button to keep them in the unlock position. I keep the magnetic key on the fridge in the kitchen, on the mirror which I found out is metal in the back- in the bathroom. They are out of sight more so than any lock I've previously used. We use the safety 1st magnetic locking system because it works very well - very strong locking mechanism and the magnetic release is very simple and a toddler can not get it open - like the ones where you pull the dawer a little bit and then push the lock down manually - my toddler had that one figured out in 1 day. This is a very secure system and works very well. We have it on a small door that leads to storage under our stairs, use it on cabinets, dresser drawers, etc. It has been great! These are AMAZING. Seriously amazing. They are a little tricky to install, but it is so worth it. There is no way, save having the key, that a curious toddler or child can get into a cabinet that is locked with one of these locks. That alone is worth the minor hassle of installing them. One recommendation: Order extra keys. Order extra keys along with the lock/key set so you have them from the start. Then hide at least two somewhere safe, so that when you inevitably lose the keys you have out for daily use, you have a way to get into your cabinets. Because sometimes even two-day shipping isn't fast enough. :) ... show more

Bought it because it has a hole in it so I could hang it if necessary and also because it is small and can be fiddly to handle. Downside is it is small. But I am glad it has a hole in it for hanging.

Seems rather pricey for what it is and you can get a set of key and two locks for just a few dollars more. But this key functions perfectly. If you know where the lock is on the back of the door it opens first time every time. If you don't know exactly where the lock is you can slide the key around and listen for the click sound. ... show more
