I have always trusted Safeguard when it comes to killing germs, so I felt good putting this by my kitchen sink where I am constantly washing my hands while cooking. I wanted something antibacterial, but I did not want an ugly, clinical looking bottle sitting on my counter. This one actually looks really nice. It feels a little more upscale than your average hand soap and fits in well with my kitchen. The scent completely won me over. The lemon and yuzu smell is bright, clean, and fresh without being sharp or artificial. The first time I used it, I was honestly surprised by how good it smelled. I still catch myself lifting my hands to smell them after washing because it is just that pleasant. It feels fresh and uplifting every time. It gives me peace of mind knowing it is effective against bacteria, especially when I am handling raw meat or cleaning up after cooking. What I really appreciate is that it does not dry out my hands. A lot of antibacterial soaps leave my skin feeling tight, but this one feels gentle and actually leaves my hands soft and smooth. For me, it checks all the boxes. I’m surprised how much I like this Safeguard Skin Zen Liquid Hand Soap. The smell lingers on my hands and in the kitchen air, which I normally wouldn’t enjoy but this soap smells so good that I don’t mind. If you’re sensitive to strong fragrances, the punchy citrus might smell a little too intense. This soap smells like a more refined and uplifting version of the harsh, one-note lemon of classic dish soaps. The scent is a bright citrus that hits you instantly with bold lemon, but it’s blended with the sophisticated scent of yuzu. The yuzu brings a complex, lively layer with a mix of grapefruit and mandarin orange, with subtle floral hints of bergamot and a touch of crisp, green bitterness underneath. It's a gel, but foams up beautifully with just a little pump, and it cuts right through any grease or grime on my hands without leaving them feeling stripped or tight afterward. The ingredients list glycerin which is a common skincare ingredient that draws in moisture to keep your skin from drying out and cocamidopropyl betaine which is a gentler cleanser that helps balance the stronger surfactant (sodium lauryl sulfate) so it cleans effectively but isn’t as drying. I’m impressed with this soap and I’m curious about their other scents now. I've been using this Safeguard Skin Zen hand soap for a few days, and it's been a nice addition to my sink. The scent is the standout feature for me. It has a sweet lemon fragrance that reminds me of lemon candy or those lemon cough drops, maybe even a hint of lemon cake. It's pleasant without being overwhelming, which I appreciate in a hand soap I'm using multiple times throughout the day. The soap lathers really well. You don't need much to get a good amount of foam, which should help the bottle last longer. After rinsing, my hands feel clean without that tight, stripped feeling some soaps leave behind. The moisturizing claims seem accurate based on my experience. My hands haven't felt dry or irritated even with frequent washing. The pump mechanism works smoothly once unlocked. Overall, this is a solid hand soap if you enjoy lemon scents and want something that cleans effectively without drying out your hands. The Safeguard Skin Zen liquid anti bacterial hand soaps have been such a nice upgrade for everyday use. The scents are all surprisingly elevated for a basic hand soap. The Lemon and Yuzu is my favorite, love, love this scent. It’s bright, refreshing, and has that clean lemony citrus note that wakes up the whole kitchen. The Lavender & Sandalwood is lovely too, a soft floral blended with warm sandalwood that feels calming and a little cozy, just perfect for bathroom. And the Vanilla & Cashmere has this creamy, rich aroma with a soft, warm sweetness that feels comforting without being heavy. All three formulas wash clean, feel gentle on the skin, and don’t leave my hands feeling stripped, which is important since we wash constantly. They’re PH‑balanced, have natural moisturizers, and overall just feel nicer than your typical everyday hand soap. A great mix of scents depending on my mood.
