I bought this a couple of years ago. I never had to drill holes or modify it for the step to work correctly because I installed it the right way the first time. Other people install it backwards and it messes up thinking you need to drill holes and modify it. The trash can was extremely easy to put together and we step on this thing so many times a day. It’s very durable. I just do not like it because it’s easy to get food behind the bag into the container. I rather have a removable top and the ability to use a step. The pricing on this is actually pretty high compared to other similar items with similar size that is automatic open lid with better bag control. I use 30 gal drawstring bags for this and instead of tying the bag, I use a bottle cap with cut + slits to keep it in place and not have to mess up the strings. I may use it for laundry and buy another trash can

This is my second Safco garbage can. I have a larger one in my garage. I don’t love the price of garbage cans but I can say these are worth the price! They are heavy duty and really hold up. There is a place on the top that helps grip the bag making it harder for the bag to fall down into the can, which is nice. It’s nice being able to find heavy duty items, like this, when it seems like a lot things are being made more cheaply.

Beware - The instructions are misleading. Connecting the lid is really hard and a tight squeeze. This garbage bin is more than 23 gallons - it's HUGE! I was able to easily fit a 30 gallon trash bag inside with room to spare.

Finally a trash container large enough that we don't need to empty it every other day. It is a bit larger that described or pictured in videos. It is just a few inches shorter than the kitchen counter top. But we can use 30 gallon trash bags and eliminate the smaller bags. It's a little pricey for a plastic trash container. Hopefully, in the long run, it will save us time and money. Like everything else in life, it has its pros and cons.

I wanted a trash can for my office/studio that was a little bigger than standard so this 17 gallon can looked like it would work. I bought 20 gallon kitchen bags to fit in this can. Long story short, the can is very wide and so I would have to use a very large bag in this can. The 20 gallon bags which should be bigger than the can, are too narrow to use with this can. I did not measure the can, but it looks like it is bigger than 17 gallons. Also, it is a small thing, but this can came needing assembly. Not just snapping the lid on the can, but putting the foot peddle mechanism together and installing it in the can. I have never had to assemble a trash can of any sort ever. This can is too big for my purposes and so it will be used in the basement as a backup can if our regular can gets broken. I will have to find another can for my office. This can looks neat, the lid is huge as is the opening, but finding bags that fit it will probably be a challenge and you will probably end up going with a 30+ gallon bag so that you can actually fit the bag over the top of the can.

I had about given up on finding a can this size with a foot pedal. We have a six-person household, "normal size" kitchen trash cans overflow in the blink of an eye, and the outdoor-sized one I had before looked tacky and grossed everyone out having to open it by hand. This one is great. You have to work a bit to get the trash bag hooked around it, but it *looks* like a proper kitchen trash can while still being industrial size. Not sure on longevity though, I've had a lot of foot-pedal cans end up with broken pedal mechanisms, but I'm happy enough with this one to just get another when and if that happens.
