Stable and solidly made

I got this to use as a treadmill desk (with a narrow treadmill slid underneath), and so far it's working perfectly. It was easy enough to assemble -- just be sure to look closely at the instructions so the pieces are all facing the right way. I'm about 6'1", so I was worried the desk might not be tall enough while I'm standing on a treadmill, but it's just fine. At the highest I was comfortable putting the top surface, it's just tall enough to put the keyboard tray about even with my elbows. It seems like quite a well-made desk, and is solid and sturdy. It wobbles a little on soft carpet, but doesn't seem at any risk for falling over. My one complaint (which isn't enough to dock a full star from my rating) is that the sliding keyboard tray slides in too easily. There's some resistance to prevent it from sliding out by accident, but once it's out it glides back and forth with the slightest pressure. I ended up just leaving the tray in most of the time and putting my hands under the top desk to type, but it's slightly annoying. Also, as others have mentioned, it's not wide enough for both a full-size keyboard and mousepad. I have the mouse on the top surface, so the keyboard is alone on the sliding tray (also, that allows the main part of the keyboard to be centered, with the numpad to the right). Great standing desk

I bought mine on Amazon Warehouse and it had a note that the package would be damaged. When I got it, the box was pretty beat up, but I have to give a lot of credit to the people that designed the packing, the desk was perfect. The shipping & packing materials can obviously take a pounding! The desk went together easily for something as complicated as a standing desk. The instructions were clear, all the tools and parts were included, I had it assembled by myself in about an hour. The whole thing is easily adjustable. Others have noted that once you get it together it's hard to re-adjust, and that's definitely true. But it's incredibly strong & solid. Once it's together, it's not going to get loose or come apart. I'm really happy with this desk, I think it's the best I could have gotten, anywhere near this price! ... show more

Good Heights for Shelves and Desktop - Meets Expectations - I'd "Buy It Again"

I like this product. Quality: Good appearance. Wood trim edges and gray shelves; side trim is plastic--has good texture/color. Features: Solid with no noticeable wobble. Castor wheels (with locks) roll smoothly around the carpeted office floor. However, the sliding keyboard shelf has a noticeble downward right lean. Shelves adjustable with use of allen wrench (provided), desktop must remove the side panels and adjust the wing-nut. I recommend you set the heights on first assembly and dont' adjust. wing-nuts just have a metal pressure fitting (my conclusion is you don't wing-nuts just have a metal pressure fitting (my suggestion is don't adjust this too much or over-tighten as that pressure fitting may not be able sustain its hold over time. Assembly: Instructions need improvement (all pictoral). I made one mistake--didn't notice the keyboard shelf is is narrower than the fixed shelves--I had to un-install and re-do that setp. I used semi-permanent thread locker liquid (not included) on the many screws to prevent "back out" because the desk is moved and leaned upon. The keyboard slide shelf required two-hands to pull out. So, I added some spray silicone (not provided) to both metal sliders and it's one firm hand now. I think this is a good value for price and I would recommend it and I would buy it again. ... show more

A terrific standing desk option

Really liked this desk. No it is not adjustable as in "sit to stand". You assemble it at one height and probably leave it there. But as a small footprint, low-wobble, everything you need in a standing desk for a great price, I'm very happy. Assembled quickly, supports my dual monitor arms, supports both big screens at my 6' eye level and tucks into a very shallow space. Solid & adjustable, but not on-the-fly

This is a very solid standing desk. When assembled, the entire thing feels very sturdy. No wiggly or wobbly bits at all. It is also highly adjustable. As you can see from the photo, the height of the top-most surface is adjustable. Additionally, there are five height settings (each one-inch apart) for the slide out keyboard shelf, and one more setting five inches further down. The bottom-most shelf can also be set at 9 different heights further down from what is shown in the photo. I've put mine at the very bottom near the wheels, so that I can fit my Mac tower between the middle and bottom shelves. However, this desk is not made for on-the-fly adjustments. The top requires four wing-nuts to be turned for adjusting, and the keyboard shelf and bottom shelf require four short and four long screws, respectively, to be unscrewed and then screwed back in. In short, if you need to make any adjustments, you'll need to remove everything on the desk to do it. I highly recommend this desk for those wanting a standing desk for their computers. ... show more

Cheap parts, but the whole is ok.

The desk serves its purpose. It's definitely of the IKEA sort of mindset: cheap parts and cheap materials for the frugal consumer that doesn't mind a half hour of putting it together. The moment I put pressure on the wheels one of them snapped and bent the stand. I called in for a replacement and they replaced the wheel, but not the metal stand (so that in essence does nothing). It took a couple weeks to get the replacement, but the customer service rep was helpful. All in all, it's an ok piece of low-end furniture. I got what I paid for. ... show more

I have researched many standing desks, and tried tabletop risers, and keep coming back to this one. You can't beat it for the price and utility. Have purchased two of these models, one for home and one for work. Others at my office have also purchased this desk because it is so practical. The height is adjustable, the construction is sturdy, the materials are quality. Wheels roll well and lock. It is large enough that you can place books or folders next to you for working out of, and other materials you're referencing on the shelves below. Have used this desk more than a year now for about 5 hours each day of the week and it looks just as good as it did Day 1. ... show more

Great desk for the money

Loving the standing desk - great price and it looks really good (IMO) and was pretty easy to put together if you are somewhat mechanically inclined. One thing that I noticed is the keyboard tray will roll back when you are trying to use it - I put binder clips on the railing behind the tray and that took care of it. Once it's together it's together - I wouldn't want to have to do many adjustments so make sure you know how high you want everything.
