Color: Washed Nat Pine
I decided to do my new office with a lot of dark gold accents. I bought an antique gold metal and glass desk, and found a gold metal vanity chair. I found short square gold metal and wood tables for my printer and as a side table for a natural upholstered chair with gold legs and nails. So I was on my way to being done. But I could not find gold shelving at a price to fit my budget. They were either all in the thousands of dollars or cheap, cheap. Then I ran across this piece. I hoped that with some touch-up work, I could get these shelves to work for me. And I'm real happy with my purchase! I took a chance and bought two of them. I have not been disappointed! -- I took a chance that a piece made of so many wood parts--at this decent, low price--would align properly and come together without much effort and time. It did! There are five shelves and 20 solid round wood poles. Each pole has the correct length long screw. Each pole screws into a shelf. You start assembly with the top shelf--laid upside down on the floor. I laid it on a carpet, but you could use a towel to protect the wood. If you are as tall as the bookcase, you will not have a problem when you get to the last pieces--the feet. Otherwise, you may need a ladder or have to lay it on its side for the final screw-in feet. --I took a chance that the color of the wood was true to what was pictured. It is! There is a slight gold-ish, green-ish wash over the natural wood. (It is not a white wash.) All I needed to do to make these metallic gold enough to match the rest of my décor was to lightly spray paint the poles. I did it from about a foot away, so the coverage is not dense or solid--just a semblance of metallic gold. I used this Rust- Oleum 7218830 Hammered Metal Finish Spray, Dark Bronze, 12-Ounce and this: Spray Paint, Metal Dark Bronze, 15 oz. . I split a can of each between the two assembled bookcases. It took less than a half hour for both units, because I used this to help me: Rust-Oleum 243546 Standard Spray Grip . (Sure helps prevent hand/finger fatigue, and keeps the hand holding the can free of paint spray. It is an amazing help!) The units look terrific and exactly how I intended them to look. They look great in the room. They do not look cheap and do not look DIY. Hey, if you don't need a gold look, just a natural look that will blend in with most any décor, these will work for you. The wash is very light, but enough to prevent the wood from looking raw. There are a few flaws in the wood, but nothing that cannot be overlooked. --I also took a chance that these would stand solidly: For the most part, they do stand firmly. And they are solid, and there will never be any bowing in the shelves. I did need to put a felt pad on the bottom of a foot to prevent it from rocking. This book case also comes with some simple plastic pieces to attach it to a wall for safety's sake. Instructions are clearly written with pictures. You don't need any tools. You will be doing a lot of screwing in with your hands. Arthritic hands will feel fatigued and be sore the next day.... Like my Dad always taught me when screwing something in: Screw the first in barely, then the opposing side. It is really necessary to do that in this case. You need wiggle room to get all four long screws through the holes in the shelf before screwing them down firmly.

If you are looking for a grey (per the title) or a washed, more natural looking pine (per the description and photos), this is NOT it. It is more like a milk chocolate brown color. It is sturdy and easy to put together and the brown still worked with the room, so I kept it. The style is nice, the finish is not stellar, and the price was right. Shipment came almost a week before originally scheduled, via UPS, with a signature required according to the tracking info. However, when they delivered it, we were home and they just left it by the door, no signature required. So, be aware that you MAY have to be home to sign for it.

Cute and sturdy bookshelf. The finish is uneven in several spots and there are few areas around the spindles where there was roughness before they added the stain/paint. Overall it’s quite attractive so I decided to keep it anyway. Purchased during COVID so it’s hard to shop physical stores for furniture- if it was normal times I would have sent it back and looked for something without defects because it was pricey.

Easiest assembly, ever! Took minutes to put together. No tools needed. Everything is ready to be easily screwed together (and the screws are already installed in the legs!) Looks great and has a good height and size. So happy with this purchase. Perfect for displaying whatever you want.

Sturdy and nice looking - I bought one of these towers from an online discount furniture store. I decided to buy another to flank our piano. I found a better price here on Amazon. The color is nice, but trendy. The pieces are solid and the tower is easy to assemble. It works great for us because we have a eclectic/traditional/farmhouse vibe going. I did not give this product 5 stars because the paint is not consistent. Some of the shelves were not sprayed thoroughly on the underside. I just put the naughty bits toward the back and/or bottom of the constructed tower. Once in the space, I don't see any issues :)

The photos really describe this incredible piece of crap. Ultra thin plyboard, barely painted. Every piece had a chip, or crack, or slice. There was one spot where there was no paint at all. In all my years of buying furniture I have never been so thoroughly appalled or incensed. Never again Safavieh.

These shelves are nothing like advertised. Have bought other Safavieh items and been pleased. But these shelves are poop brown in color and the quality is chintzy at best. Really unfortunate that they are advertised as a completely different color and quality, especially for the price. Could buy a much nicer product at Target or any home store.

My only complaint is that the color in picture looked like it was white washed somewhat. In reality, there is NO white at all. I may try to add myself. Otherwise it is perfect in the space we placed it.
