Description

The Safariland Model 6005 Tactical holster is built for comfort as well as functionality. This Tactical holster features the Self Locking System (SLS™) rotating hood system which is so well suited for the tactical situations encountered today. The hood on the Model 6005 holster can only be released by being simultaneously pushed down and rotated forward and actually becomes more secure when upward force is applied. The STX Tactical finish of the holster is rugged, protecting the gun in scrape, scratch and dent incidents. Molded sight track and soft SafariSuede™ protect the gun's sights and finish. A special feature of the Model 6005 is the double leg strap and the leg shroud with a quick release leg harness.

Hand Orientation: Right
It's comfy enough and has the safety features I was looking for. Now when I open carry, this is my go to holster. The price is reasonable enough considering the engineering that went into the design and the peace of mind the security features provide. I don't worry about anyone grabbing my piece with this on my hip. By the time they get anywhere near to accessing my gear I'll have had plenty of time to put an end to such a silly endeavor by other means. Shorts are a grey area though. If they go down past the knee, fine. If they are above the knee, not so fine. I have a different holster for those situations though. So this holster still gets full stars and a hearty thumbs up. This holster is absolutely fantastic and the SLS is easy to use and results in a VERY quick draw (they weren't kidding) - I was a little skeptical at first, but the motion just feels right and doesn't seem unnatural as I had imagined originally. The retention feels just right and I would feel comfortable literally repelling upside-down without the fear of my weapon dropping. The quality of the materials used are also high, not to mention that it's aesthetically pleasing, too. The straps are very comfortable and feature anti-slip silicon. The added feature of the quick-release is also nice for when you're making adjustments to your belt, etc. without worrying about the holster having to go along with it and having to readjust repeatedly. While a little costly, you really do get what you pay for and I'm glad I went with it. I would highly recommend this holster for duty and/or personal use. ... show more

The Safariland line-up is always up for the job you demand of it. This thigh holster holds true to the brand name. It is easy to operate yet secures your firearm when you drop it in place. The straps are comfortable over a variety of pants ranging from BDU's to street clothes. The quick attach system lets you leave your firearm holstered while you remove the shroud from your leg/belt.
