I got this rimmed silicon dish drying mat to replace a microfiber one that never seemed to dry out (and one of my cutting boards was getting mildew on the edge - eww!). This silicon mat seems like a more hygienic and easy-to-clean option. In contrast to cloth/microfiber mats that don't totally dry out, this silicon mat has ridges that allow water to drain and dishes to completely dry without getting moisture trapped under them. And because the silicon mat has a continuous rim around its edge, the water doesn't leak onto the counter. Bonus that it is dishwasher safe. I got the black one so that it would blend into my black countertops. It does show hard water stains, but I just put the mat into the dishwasher (it's dishwasher safe) and it looks good as new. This drying mat is better than the absorbent mats I currently use. It's durable and doesn't slide (tested on different surfaces). It's the perfect size for my kitchen countertop, and the raised surface keeps the water away from the dishes as they dry. It folds nicely for easy storage in the cabinet or drawer. I also use my mat for resting cooking utensils while cooking and holding hot pans. An added bonus is it's VERY EASY to clean; no need for machine washing or potential bacteria buildup like my cloth drying mats. ... show more

This silicon kitchen drying mat is very well made. It is clearly durable and easy to clean. It is described to be dishwasher safe and heat resistant. It is floppy, so it wont hold its shape, but that allows it to be more flexible in how it is positioned. My only issue with it is that it would need to be stored when not in use because (as the product description indicates) it is meant to sit on the counter top and allow for drying large items. This means that it takes up a significant amount of counter space when in use. I would recommend for anyone who has a suitable location and need for using it. ... show more
