As I am doing some weight lifting in my BodyPump class at the gym, I realized I needed better foot support. These have good padding and arch support. I was able to remove the pad and add an extra metatarsal pad to it. These have sturdy attractive uppers - I like the blue contrast on the upper and the soles. The soles keep a good grip on the floor. I appreciate these come in a wide width, which is even more width than I need, but I can adjust the laces to my best fit. They are flattering and they don't make my feet look huge. These are the third pair of trainers I ordered after returning two pairs of Under Armour that were too short in spite of getting up to size 10. My normal size is 9, but I purchase 1/2 size larger to accommodate my orthotics. I was almost afraid to order another pair, but I tried another brand. These are 9 1/2 and fit perfectly. Love these wide shoes! I wore them and another pair in a different color all summer long at a warehouse. I was walking 6+ miles a day on concrete and these were very comfortable and held up well. I did add an arch support because of my flat feet, and it stayed put. I have wide feet and wear a size 8. I ordered 8 wide. I had thin white crew socks on and could fit two fingers inserting in shoe behind my heel. That tells me I should of ordered a 7 & 1/2 wide. The width is perfect for my toes, they have wiggle room and big toe nor pinky toe rub against sides. Instead of returning these and ordering a 7 & 1/2 wide I am just going to wear thicker socks. I am afraid if I go with 1/2 size smaller then my heel will rub on back of shoe and toes will hit top of shoe. As for comfort just wearing them around indoors, my feet did not hurt however I have not worn them outside on asphalt yet because of it being a rainy day. Also I have Plantar Fushia so needed a walking shoe that had good arch support and so far I believe these shoes do. I bought these to specifically do walking in because I want to get back in shape and drop some extra weight. The true test is when I actually can get my walking in to see if they still provide comfort and keep my feet from hurting. The only negative is I feel the shoes are a over priced for wide width. I could see maybe $5.00 or $10.00 extra but $15.00 extra is ridiculous. I also feel real leather should have been used for trimming especially for the price of these walking shoes. Gave a five rating but (definitely) would not consider to be “high performance” walking shoes. Nor do I believe they will ever be my favorite walking shoes. They were comfortable and no issues of discomfort or irritation after my walks (+/- 2 - 3 miles). I bought the 9.5 Wide; for me they did not seem to be “wide”. I have feet that can wear 9.5 Medium but have liked to wear some wide sizes, too. (Do you know the old Minnie Pearl joke? I wear an 8 but a 9 feels so good, I buy a 10.) Although NOT a valid reason to select a walking shoe but I do love the color combination of this pair. In all fairness, I spent mid-range money, I expected mid-range shoes. ... show more
