I really like these as they have the ability to hang through a main hole or you can use the tabs on the back side which give you more folds, if you prefer that look. The material was surprisingly expensive looking, although the hem sewing was a bit too evident, but not glaring. They were heavier than I thought they were going to be, so they can definitely block the light, if that is what you are looking for. ... show more

I wish I had found these blackout curtains sooner. I have wasted money and experienced a lot of frustration trying to keep light out of my bedroom so I can sleep. These curtains - I purchased them in black - block all the light. I am so pleased! They also are made of a very thick, soft, luxurious fabric. The price was unbeatable for the quality solution I now have. There are two panels in one package, so normally that would be for one window. I actually used one panel on each of two windows, beneath a lovely set of white curtains that are always closed anyway, and they work fine this way for my needs. Of course, where the curtains are NOT, such as above the windows (above the rod), yes, the light still gets in, but that has nothing to do with the curtains themselves.     • Light Filtering NOT Room Darkening and definitely not blackout

I bought a 42"X45 for the kitchen window which faces the west. I put these up this morning and it was not room darkening. I was somewhat disappointed because as you can imagine a western facing window gets a lot of sun thus making the room hot.After mulling it over, I decided to keep them because light filtering will keep us from turning the lights on, which tend to give off a lot of heat. I am going to have to hem these removing 6". The material is thick, which is a plus and thus making them light filtering. They weren't terribly expensive.They will get a lot of washing up abuse being above the sink, so if I have to replace them I won't be terribly upset. I am using curtain clip rings rather than the tabs on the back. Even if I used the tabs on the back, I would still have to hem them - it seems curtains come in very standard sizes and getting custom curtains is out of the question especially in the kitchen. I chose curtains because I absolutely hate cleaning blinds. ... show more

My shades broke in my kitchen windows and I needed something new so I did the blackout curtains, my kitchen windows get the summer sun shining thru all afternoon and evening so these should be great to block the blinding sun. Very pretty love it.
