I used this Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch 2X Ultra Cover in Ultra Matte Black for a furniture makeover project, and the results exceeded my expectations. The paint goes on smoothly, provides excellent coverage, and dries to a rich, true matte finish without looking chalky or uneven. One of the things I liked most was how quickly it covered the original color. With a couple of light coats, I achieved a professional-looking finish with very little effort. The spray pattern was consistent, which helped prevent drips and made it easy to get even coverage on edges and detailed areas. The ultra-matte black color looks modern and high-end, making inexpensive or worn items look completely refreshed. It also dried relatively quickly, allowing me to apply multiple coats in a reasonable amount of time. A little surface prep goes a long way, but once applied, the finish looks durable and smooth. Whether you’re updating furniture, décor, metal fixtures, or DIY projects, this paint delivers impressive results for the price. I would definitely purchase it again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality matte black spray paint with great coverage and a beautiful finish.

It’s spray paint. But it’s superb quality and applies easily, and it’s thick enough that I only needed one solid coat. It looks great, doesn’t run, and is a fantastic addition to my DIY supplies.

I love this Matte Black Rust-Oleum. I do a lot of spray painting - mostly metal. Rust-Oleum by far is the product to use on metal. It protects and lasts. I also find that application is easy and less problematic with drips and crinkling (shriveling like old skin). I do apply thin layers and make sure the prior coat is completely dry before applying the next. Which leads to the next excellent attribute of this paint is that it dries fast. I use a lot of the Rust-Oleum color shift spray paint and it requires a base coat of black. I use this matte black Rust-Oleum for that base coat and it works great. The color shift is a bit on the expensive side (worth it mind you) so you want that black base to hold up and look good. No imperfections (crinkling, slumping, sagging, dripping etc) to come through. I made the mistake of using a lesser brand and basically had to wipe that black completely off, sanding it down to the metal and then applying the Rust-oleum. Go with the best even though it may cost a few extra dollars. Completely worth the money.

1. I absolutely love the Rust-Oleum 331182 Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint in Ultra Matte Black. The coverage is amazing and it dries quickly. The finish is smooth and even, giving a professional look to my DIY projects. The color is a true matte black, which I appreciate. 2. One thing I don't like about this spray paint is the strong odor. It's quite overpowering, so I would recommend using it in a well-ventilated area or wearing a mask while spraying. Other than that, I have no complaints about the performance of this product. 3. I've used many different brands of spray paint before, but Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover is by far my favorite. The nozzle sprays evenly and doesn't clog easily. The coverage is great, and I only needed one coat for full opacity on my project. 4. The only downside to this spray paint is the price. It's a bit more expensive than other brands, but the quality is definitely worth it. I will continue to purchase Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch for all my painting needs. 5. Overall, I highly recommend Rust-Oleum 331182 Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint in Ultra Matte Black. The quality is top-notch, and the finish is beautiful. The only thing to be aware of is the strong odor, but that's a small price to pay for such a great product.
