I needed exterior grade paint for Bilco Doors. I used this paint as soon as it arrived. It arrived from Amazon with 4 special clips to prevent leaks. I prepped, sanded, and wiped surface. Outdoor conditions: 75 degrees sunny 70% humidity. I put first coat on with brush. I waited 24 hours. I put second coat with a roller. This paint is a great product. Flows well. Dries in a few hours. The paint is good, it is just me, I am sure. I have never used an enamel, oil based paint. I used it to paint our very old, rusty pool filter. My husband was supposed to build a cover for it, well 10 years later, still hasn't been built, so I decided to paint it. :) It turned out okay. Since painting outside and it was breezy, the paint was drying as I was painting and made a mess of things. Also, since it is oil based, be sure to get mineral oil or similar to remove any paint you get on yourself and for the brushes. You cannot use soap and water. I am sure the experienced knows this, but I did not. Also, get the right brush for the material you are painting on. I was painting on metal and the brush left brush marks. I have learned from this all. Note: I have ordered a new valve for the top, just hasn't arrived yet. :) ... show more

While it's an odd use for it, when applied with a roller, this paint works beautifully to restore old, steel crinkle finish automobile roofs. It's durable, easy to apply, and retains its finish for years.

Never believe what I use this for. I have an older truck that is in excellent mechanical shape. I also have a very limited budget. The hood of my truck was beginning to peel paint from the heat and sun exposure here in Florida. It was beginning to look, shall I say shabby. Really can't afford a pant job. EDIT: It's now MARCH 2021 and outside door still looks great! Decided to do inside. WHAT'S the first thing someone sees coming to your door? YOUR DOOR! Nothing looks better than high gloss to really make your inside and outside POP! And there was plenty left over to freshen up any outside trim or planters. Great way to start SPRING! _____________________________________________________________________ EDIT: OK it's end of OCTOBER 2019 and wanted to FRESHEN up my entry before the HOLIDAYS and NOW is good time to paint my matte front door that just looks a little sad GLOSS WHITE! ONE can (the 8 oz) painted the outside of my door, thin trim around the outside entry and freshened up a planter! JUST FINISHED PAINTING the door and because it's not very warm out, taking awhile to dry, but it's been about TWO hours and is just about dry to the touch. DOOR LOOKS PHENOMENAL!!! AMAZING what a $4 and change can of paint can do! I didn't prime, I didn't even wash the door (It has a glass storm door on the other side, so not really dirty), took me about a half an hour. Cheap and easy way to freshen up a room, outside door and the GLOSS just makes it POP! It's like a mirror finish. _______________ UPDATE: RAINED the day after I painted outside window box and didn't affect the paint at all. Also it has been STORMING in days since, and the paint job looks perfect and new! DEFINITELY FIVE STARS! ______________________________________ I needed to paint a sad, dirty-looking flat white window box that is about 24 X 6 inches. I got the GLOSS WHITE to make it pop more. PROS: The GLOSS is almost a MIRROR GLOSS! Transformed a shabby, off-white, beaten up window box with what looks like a NEW finish. It looks AMAZING! Thick, not runny 8 ounce can covers A LOT Dried fast and still had about three quarters of the can left GREAT price for what you get in quality and quantity Super easy, I'm not very handy at all, didn't "prep" the wooden window box, just rinsed and dried it off to get some of the dirt off and painted Super fast - covers easily. I did white on a box that (had been) white and took me mere minutes to complete CONS: So far, none. It felt dry to the touch in about four hours, we're supposed to get rain tomorrow and this is outside, so we shall see.
