This is THE EXACT SAME PAINT, made by THE SAME MANUFACTURER as the kind of model paint that came in 1/4 ounce glass bottles (I can't use another brand name in a review). That paint now costs $2 for a quarter ounce. This cost about $10 for eight ounces. I save over $50 and I always have plenty of the most common color I need. I've always preferred enamel paints, especially for airbrushing, so it's nice to know I can at least get flat black. It airbrushes well. It is the exact same paint that I've used for models since 1972. Rustoleum makes other basic colors too that are the same as their now discontinued model paints. ... show more

It's really hard to get a picture that accurately shows the finish, but it dried very evenly and matte. I am in the process of giving this room a mini make-over. This is a dated tub that I know will be eventually gutted and turned into a shower. I didn't think replacing the faucets on a 90s jacuzzi tub was worth the time or money, but the old tarnished brass was horrible. There are lines on the flat top of the water spout from my paint brush, but only in appearance (I used a smaller smooth craft paint brush to minimize texture.) It looks like a brushed steel but black, so I don't mind at all. All things painted are smooth to the touch--no texture or raised paint lines. I plan to update with use. So far so good! I let the first coat cure about 2 days and another 2 for the second. It seemed like the second coat dried faster, so you will have less time to work with it and smooth it out with your paint brush. I am very impressed with the finish on the knobs because they have ridges for grip, yet the paint dried so smooth. The only con so far is the finish really attracts dust and this is an ongoing workspace (drywall repair), so dust is inevitable. Overall, I'm really happy I decided to give this a try and give new life to this perfectly functioning but ugly tub 🙂 ... show more
