I had never used this paint before but I was not disappointed. I wanted to refinish a set of night stands in a silver/mirror decor. I found this paint online and de idea to give it a try. It covered both pieces easily and quickly. I did paint them first with a gray paint before adding the silver. It took less than a 1/2 qt to cover them both a day it gave me the exact look I wanted. I will say that it isn't an acrylic paint but a latex paint and requires paint cleaner in order to clean brushes, etc. It also takes awhile to dry and cure. ... show more

Easy, one coat on most surface for this project (primed). Fast dry and great finish. (Not sure pictures do justice to finished product here). High yield. I used 2, 8 ounce cans to do stairs and 20 ft railing across. My goal was to just clean the dated stairs up and replace at a later date. Now they’re a focal point and everyone who visits comments on how nice they look, like new updated brushed satin look.     • It’s Great but…. Thin or Don’t Thin You Decide

I got the semi-gloss white version and when they say white they should say Snow White or bright white because it’s as white as white gets which is exactly what I was going for. The paint itself is really thick, almost the consistency of silicone and I knew that wasn’t going to apply smoothly so I thinned it thankfully it’s water based paint and water worked very well although after thinning the drying times differed from what the can implied. Anyway I’m no professional by any means but when paints that thick it should be thinned especially if doing in hot and humid areas that heat will dry that paint so fast you’ll be sanding for a smooth finish. Thankfully my project was indoors and climate controlled I probably could’ve painted it on straight out the can but you live and you learn. Overall it’s a great paint and looks wonderful after it dries. Update, I did try this on another project without thinning and it dried way smoother than the project I did where I thinned it so prepare to slap it on thick just if working in the heat be quick. Also I should note both projects were done indoors where there was no humidity and the temperature stayed below 72°F. Also I should note I used a Wooster brush for applying. ... show more

So, I had bought one of those old VCR and TV pieces of furniture that they used to roll around in school (used). I originally used it as a pantry and painted it red. Yes, red. I now wanted it white to match another room to use it for growing my hydroponic gardens. I had to put 4 coats on it because it was RED but it worked great. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. The top did get wet and some paint came off but I have plenty left and will paint that spot when I have a minute. Best of all, my husband no longer rolls his eyes at my "red eyesore".     • Difficult to use and very marginal result

I'm an old guy and have been using Rust-Oleum products for as long as I can remember. This is the most unsatisfactory experience I've ever had with their product. The project is a round metal table, approx. 4' diameter, with (4) curved 1" diameter legs. One large flat surface and a fair amount of small round surface. The temperature of the surfaces was well within the specifications. It was all sanded and spot primed with the specified primer. I'm not a professional painter, but I've painted a lot of different things and watched and learned from painters on my jobs as a working general contractor for 50 years. First, when ordering, be sure you're getting the sheen you want. I made the mistake of thinking, since the first product to come up was satin, that I was ordering satin sheen. Some colors are only offered in Gloss and some only in satin. I got gloss and it made the application more difficult - that's on me. The product didn't cover well at all. With the most gentle brush strokes from my softest brushes, it left unpainted bristle lines and REALLY didn't level out like some paint does. Unhappy with the bad looking finish, I bought two new professional grade brushes, labeled "Soft" and felt them to be sure they were very soft. I wet sanded the surface to flatten the ridges reasonably well and painted it again. I got a significantly better result, but still not something I would ever accept and provide to a customer. Even with the very soft brushes, I constantly had to deal with bristle lines and going back probably 2 minutes later to level a thicker spot, I got a pull mark that is very pronounced. I THINK this product MIGHT produce a reasonable result if applied with a micro fiber roller (which I didn't do because the directions said not to roll it) or sprayed with the right equipment. I MIGHT try the roller to use the rest of this can up on a project that I don't need to turn out well. I've had very good results with the spray can Painter's Touch product, but I won't ever touch this stuff again. I'm very disappointed in a longtime trusted brand. ... show more
