With a 4month old puppy & a 2yr old male dog, we wanted a visual reminder to stay back from the live tree. While nothing is 100% foolproof, I can say there was no urinating on the tree & we were able to keep presents (non-food) safely behind the fence & around the tree this year. No predrilled holes so it's hard not to strip the tiny screws they include. I gave it 3 stars because I used it to deter puppies and toddlers from messing with the presents and it did what I wanted for the most part even tho I'm sure it wasn't intended to stop dogs and kids lol. However, the quality was very low to me. Very cheaply made, breaks very easily, no predrilled holes for the hinges/screws, tiny screws that strip so easily, and overall it just wasn't what I had hoped it would be. ... show more

Could be a couple inches taller but other than that it works great. Stays standing and not easily knocked down. Definitely worth the purchase especially if you have pets
