I ordered this as a replacement to my 5 year old cellphone. Yes I don't like changing phones every year just because. So I was looking for a product that would represent durability and quality, and affordability. So this Blackview BV9700 Pro seemed to be one, after an extensive research. The first phone I received worked great for the first two days, then it froze and the screen become unresponsive. I tried restarting the phone and even tried resetting it, but it didn't work. So instead of giving up on it (I wanted to believe that I've just gotten a defective unit) I returned and ordered a replacement right away. I received the replacement in 2 days. So far, it's been great. The phone is super fast and responsive (of course, it's an octa-core at 2.1GHz! and has 6/128 memory/storage) and the best part is that is has stock Android 9! which means not useless apps or bloatware that make your phone sluggish or take space were pre-installed. I've checked all the specs and features, and all of them are as advertised. Of course you have to keep in mind that this is a rugged phone, which means it's heavy and bulky. Not your traditional light and slim phone. I've installed the Microsoft Launcher and it works wonders on the interface. The camera, which seems to be the most important feature of a cellphone nowadays, is really good to me. But then, I'm not picture-obsessed (nor spend my whole day on social media hanging pictures of myself or my food) so I'm not gonna compare the picture quality with those of an iphone or expensive android because it's pointless. Like I said the camera is excellent. Both the front and the rear one are 16MP, which is something uncommon, usually the front camera is of a lower resolution. Plus the rear camera has an extra lens (dual) at 8MP. I've attached a couple of random pictures, and one screen shot of my home screen as it looks with the MS launcher. Another thing I could highlight is the battery, I charged it fully two days ago, I've used the bluetooth while driving, the wifi is always on. I've made a couple of long-lasting video calls over whatsapp, watched a few videos on youtube, besides the regular activity of texting, emailing and web browsing and right now the battery is still at 43%. Which is pretty good if you ask me. The one thing that I may put as a drawback is the audio. I has only one speaker (not two as it might appear by looking at the phone) located in the rear of the phone which sometimes makes it hard to hear well when watching videos, unless you pop up the volume a couple of levels. However during a phone call, over the speaker the sound is loud and clear, and they hear me very well on the other end. All in all, so far, this is very good phone, has a great value for the price. I still shall see how it endures the pass of time. I'not a fervent reviewer of all my purchases (unless they're worth it) but I will keep updating this one if necessary.

Good size, good shape, fits in a large pocket. My previous phone was a bv9500, the one with the huge battery, so in comparison- this phone is much thinner and lighter but the battery only lasts half as long. It does have more features, like pedometer, gas detection and a much better camera. I do like the amoled screen and the gorilla glass. The speaker is weak, the are slits in the back for two speakers but there is only one and the sound quality is poor, if there is a lot of background noise it is just too weak. The ear speaker is hard to locate and if you hold it just a little off you'll hear nothing, the size and shape of the phone and my ears just don't go together well. There is no head phone jack for 3.5mm so you have to use either USB c phones or an adapter. The phone is really made for use with bluetooth. Update: I've had this phone for over 6 months now. I work operating heavy equipment and driving trucks so the phone does get abused, dropped on the job rather frequently, sometimes in mud and water. I've really had no issues with the phone. The battery lasts 3 to 4 days with my usual use. The screen was showing some scratching so I've added a glass protector. The bluetooth connection is reliable. The finger print reader likes a dry finger but the screen seems fine with wet fingers.

In order to get a free extended warranty on the product, Blackview requires I complete this process and write a review within the first week of having this phone. Not enough time to thoroughly see how it is so I gave average stars for anything that would take time to really see how it is. Overall though these are the pros and cons I've found: Pros: the music volume on this phone is quite impressive. The phone seems pretty rugged and seems to take good pictures Cons: The phone comes loaded with some apps that I can not figure out how to remove. I am guessing I can't...but I will keep trying. The problem is these apps (like the Child Mode app) takes up space that I do not like giving up. This phone requires a special adaptor (1 is provided with the phone) if you want to use a store bought wired charger (the cable that is provided works fine.. the adaptor is needed because the charging port is very deep so the provided cable and the adaptor have extended plugs for the phone)... But there is no place on the phone to store the adaptor. I see it getting lost in my not too distant future. The other cons are things just requiring me to learn the phone. No clue where the voice mails are, can't set up the finger identification, etc. But the handbook that comes with it is of no help since it does not cover these topics. Updated input...I decreased my review of the phone since I can not find anyplace to buy the special charging cable needed to charge this phone. It does offer the wireless charging, however, that is a bit slow and does not help when I am trying to sync my phone and charge it while driving. I ordered two cables from Blackview that were SUPPOSED to fit my phone. Not only did I not get the metal braided cables I ordered (it was the regular plastic cables) but the chargers do not fit my phone due to them being normal USB charging cables, not the ones with the lengthened plug for this phone. The Blackview company is virtually impossible to get in touch with and the cables I ordered took several months to get here.

The reaction timing for typing is slow. You know when you go to type, you're keyboard pops up really quick? This one is a lot slower. It's like it goes slow motion. But the durability of it is better than the typical phone. Definitely have to have patience with it.
