I read every review on here before I bought the costume. Most were not that favorable, even those for the $700 costume were less favorable than this, so I gave it a go. My first impression is that for the money, its a good buy. I have attached my first photo trying on the costume, along with a Halloween night photo after some minor changes...... To let everyone know, I am just under 6 feet tall, and 185lbs. I ordered the standard size. The sizing is ok for my height. You do get a wedgie as others have described. I think the Xlarge would be way to big. I will start by saying this,the helmet was not as "flat" or "deformed" as described. It was packed on its own packaging within the costumes bag, and seems to have the shape to it that was intended. As others have stated, it is 2 peice, attached via velcro. It looks good when put together. The velcro attachement isn't the best, but it functions. Aside from the smell (this thing smells like it was painted with nail polish), the biggest problem is that others can see into the mask. Your nose and face is quite noticeable through the visor. I plan on blacking out that area somehow...I haven't gotten that far yet. The jumpsuit is not as cheap or thin as other reviews have stated. Not sure what they are expecting for a $40+ halloween costume. The chest armor and cod foam peices are pretty good. Not as "cheap" or easy to rip as others have mentioned. I would like to see a bit more of a turtle neck on it...you will have some neck showing. The knee armor doesn't lay as it should. Not sure how I will remedy this... I do think some safety pinning will be required. To me this is an enexpensive costume meant for a night or two, so i can deal with things like this. Same with the shoulder armor. The back of the costume closes with a small bit of velcro at neck level. This does create a small gape below the neck area. If you had a jetpack, it would prob not be noticed. Again a safety pin will take care of this. The belt is a little bit large for my waiste, as it attaches with velcro. I will add addtional velcro to it to get it a bit more snug. The "boots" are foam shoe covers that would attach around the bottom of your feet with velcro. I guess they are meant to cover your footgear. The "boots" are not large enough for my shoe size to cover my shoes. I will probably end up cutting the "boots" off the costume as they are not going to function. To sum all this rambling up, if you plan on wearing this a night or two, and dont expect a perfect costumer for $40something, then don't hestitate on getting the costume. ... show more

I was very worried when I added this item to my cart mostly due to all the reviews saying this suit left nothing to the imagination with how tight it fit around those 'special' areas. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it fit me. Not too tight (like in the stock photo) and not too loose to where armor and other areas didn't seem to fit quite right. Upon opeining the package, I found the foam armor pieces were folded and just weren't laying right anywhere when the costume was put on. I used a heat gun (hair dryer would work well too) to form and shape the foam pieces so that they sit properly when worn. I have a 32" waist and the belt was WAY too long and I was not able to use the velcro that is sewn-in on the belt. I wound up using spring steel paper clips to secure the belt and that worked great. The one thing missing I feel SHOULD have been included is gloves. With that said, I went all over town looking for decent gloves, and finally found a pair that I thought looks pretty good with the costume. They are isotoner 'smart touch' men's gloves (I found mine at Wally-world) that are gray in color. They are darker than the costume suit, but complete the look very well! The one thing that was really nice is the functional thigh cargo pockets. They gave me a place to put my wallet and cell phone, which would have been very hard to get to had I had my belongings in my pants pocket under the costume! The worst part about this costume is the poorly executed fastening system for the back closure. There are 3 teeny-tiny pieces of velcro to hold things together. I had my wife put on a few spring steel paper clips to close the back. There really should have been a zipper there! The mask came in a protective shell in two pieces. I did not get it out and try it since I have an old Don Post helmet I'm using with this costume. Finally, the simulated 'boots' that cover your shoes don't look anything like the stock picture is showing. They don't really cover your shoes and are more like partial spats. I wound up folding them under the cuff and used a pair of old military issue boots to complete the outfit. So, in a nutshell, this is a very cool costume for the price, fits WELL up to my dimensions (5' 8" / 165 lbs / 32" waist) and wearing jeans and a t-shirt underneath. Has convenient pockets to put wallet, phone, etc. Foam parts need heat from hair dryer, etc. to straighten out from being folded up during packaging. I bought this to spray paint silver and turn into a Mandolorian costume for a show. That helmet is small. It barely fit my head and my nose nearly pressed against the visor (which didn't hide my nose very well. I get that they couldn't make it darker for safety reasons, but I still could barely see through it). For 8 shows so far, I had to sit on stage for over an hour with that helmet and it sucks! It got so hot, I'd have to run off stage occasionally to cool down. Also, the velcro holding the helmet together wasn't very strong and wasn't glued down very well. The armor pieces don't line up on your body like you'd they should, especially the knees. If you buy this, plan on tearing those off and gluing them back on the right way. Overall, it did the job. It was a lot cheaper than almost anything else I could find, and the cheaper ones all looked terrible. With a little effort, your can make this a decent costume for relatively cheap. ... show more

Unlike the Mandalorian costume I purchased last year (Size: Medium), this costume presented more of a challenge to actually fit. First, the picture included on the Amazon page is a joke. I had to get some alterations made to the costume which included the following: (a) Shoulder pads. They look like wings. Have them sewn down; (b) Knee pads: They stick out like a sore thumb. Another alteration but after the sewing is done, they will still stick out; (c) The plastic belt: Buy more velcro or something which will make the belt fit a 33 or 34 inch waist. I'm 5"11" and weigh 165-170lbs. The shoe flaps which cover your shoes were tucked in the pants legs. For the price I paid: not too bad but be ready to pay more IF you want it altered to fit good. ... show more
