I included the measurements in my pictures as they weren't in the product pictures. You can use the "See in my room" but I used it and it looked like there would be room on each side of the rack but you can see in the pictures it barely fits in my space. I had to push my washer and dryer over to get it in the space. There are no tools needed to put this together, the shelves just sit on top of the sides. You will need to lean one side up against something to get the first shelf on. It does have a rubber coating so it's durable and waterproof if the bottom on your shoes are wet. I did have to leave one shelf out to get my boots on but if you are just using it for regular flat shoes you can utilize all 4 shelves. ... show more

The only caution I would say is not to put anything too heavy on them, because they can warp. I have had a Rubbermaid shoe rack for probably 15 years and recently needed a few more to organize my shoes. They come in and looked just like my old one and were super easy to put together. Had them both put together in less than 5 minutes. They hold up really well!

Very sturdy and I recommend. The connectors are hard to fasten to the racks. I saw a recommendation in the reviews to use a rubber mallet. I wish I had taken that advise from the start, it is a must. But even so, still not easy. Will buy more.
