We were looking for a cooler that could hold ice for a while, just in case we lost power. Read some reviews, very nice cooler. Thermally efficient, holds ice for days. Depends on how often you open it but it has held ice for us for five days. There might be coolers out there that will keep ice longer, but five days is good enough for me. No need to spend a few hundred dollars extra to keep ice a day or two longer. I haven't need to keep ice in there for a week anyhow. *I haven’t used my RTIC cooler yet and will update after doing so, but seeing this was a hard decision to make without ANY reviews I figure anything is better than nothing. This purchase was made after researching so many hard coolers. I’ve only done weekend long camping trips but we have a week-long trip coming up and wanted to have something with better ice retention. I also love long beach days so having wheels was a must. I just couldn’t get myself to purchase a YETI, I think $300 is already too much never mind $450. The only thing that was hard to get past was the 1 year warranty vs 5 years, but for something I’m only using 3-4 months out of the year I think it’ll be fine. The cooler was delivered faster than anticipated. It’s flawless (was worried about seeing other RTIC coolers arriving damaged) I ordered the basket and divider from RTIC directly as they were having a sale. I couldn’t tell you the difference between the YETI & RTIC if I didn’t see the labels. I appreciate how lightweight it is, without feeling unsturdy. The wheels are in great condition. Haven’t used yet, but LOVE the clamp down not being as obnoxiously hard to open. Seems secure enough, and if it works as well, this is my second fav thing (price) when compared to the others.

RTIC gets the job done! Combined with a couple of large blue ice packs on the bottom and a few skinny ones on the side and I enjoyed perfect Temps in my RTIC for a 6 day trip through Glacier, Yellowstone, Teton and craters of the moon!

Recently moved 1,000+ miles and this cooler kept everything frozen in the back of the truck for 2 days. The wheels and hide away handle make it easy to move. Good coolers can be expensive and this one was the best deal and in my opinion has the same quality of the Yeti's which are $100+ more and don't have wheels. ... show more

I pre-chilled the cooler using Rtic icepacks, pre-chilled all beverages. Loaded the cooler up with drinks and 22lbs of ice on a Sunday. It is now Tuesday and I just opened the cooler after 2 days and there is zero ice left. This cooler was kept in a shaded garage at about 78 degrees. Disappointed to have spent $299 for a cooler that states up to 6 days of ice retention and this cooler didn’t even make it 2 days.
