okay, I'm feeling a little silly even writing this, but i really like this thing. I eat vegan and go through a lot of avocados, most end up as guacamole. I also like to store things in glass, so i have these square glass containers with tight fitting lids that I use, but was finding that squishing avocados with a fork didn't work in a dish with vertical sides. I know, everyone should have such complex issues to deal with in life, eh? But this little tool is the perfect solution since you can approach smishing from above instead of from the side. I absolutely love my masher! It's exactly what I wanted AND EXACTLY as advertised. I knew when I first picked it up and felt the weight that it was a good product.....looked it over and saw how well made it was and couldn't wait to start "mashing". Ha!! It's comfortable in my hand and is perfect for single bowls or plates of mashable food. Of course it will do larger amounts but will just take a little longer. This masher is perfect for avocados. I also used it for mashing bananas for banana bread. It works great. I like that the "head" is smaller than most other small-scale mashers. It will fit easily in the bowl I make the guacamole in, so that I don't have to dirty two bowls. It is very high quality and dishwasher safe. I love this thing! ... show more

I ordered this because I was tired of trying to mash avocado with a fork. I have arthritis and try to protect my hands when I can. It works great is easy to store and clean. The only suggestion I would make is that they should make the handle more easy grip. That is put a band of rubber or silicone on the handle to make it easier to grip. I actually wrapped a wide rubber band around mine to serve this purpose. ... show more

I used to mash avocados with a fork, and the results were not appetizing. Now, when I use this petit masher, the avocado gets smooth in no time and with little effort. It’s sturdy, well designed, and small enough to do its job in a small bowl, and stores easily in a kitchen drawer. It washes up beautifully in the dishwasher. I use it to make heart-healthy deviled eggs. I discard the yolks from hard-boiled eggs and fill the whites with avocado mashed with a little lemon juice. A delicious appetizer! ... show more

This is the perfect size to mash an avocado or two or three. It's sturdy enough to do the job. I wanted something smaller than the potato masher I was using and bigger than the fork that was too small to really get the job done. I'm not a fan of the "hook" on the end of the handle since if you grip it wrong the "hook" jabs your palm. I recommend this for the specific purpose intended.     • Great while it worked, but failed too soon
I purchased two of them, and they work great; small size is great for mashing avocados in a bowl. The problem is in about a year both of them have broken. These appear to be designed poorly as the handle is a metal tube that slides around after a some of uses and washings. I have ordered a different one from Amazon, and it has held up much better.
