These are exact fit for my marble cheese slicer. Measure yours and make sure it is the size required in the text of this product description. When you install, be sure to tighten the handle as tightly as you can so it doesn't rotate on the metal U-shaped hinge arm and loosen the wire. Also, make sure the wire goes around the top of the circle "pully" so the wire is tightened as you press down on the handle. One adjustment I had to make was to slightly re-shape the U-shaped hinge arm so the wire was tight and the hinge didn't scrape the edge of the marble base. This was simple to do by pressing it against my kitchen sink. Don't overdo it; it will yield but make small adjustments. I was sure I could fix my slicer by "simply" getting some stainless wire, but that was more expensive than these replacements, and it would have required monkeying to make the loop ends.

This cheese slicer works very well. It is a slightly better design than the one I had used for the past 10 years - that finally gave up the ghost. It is a bit more robust than that one, so I am looking forward to many years of good service. It came with three extra wires and I ordered more. You cannot expect the wires to last forever, especially if you slice hard cheeses. Good product, great price, quick delivery.

Edited to add: I've had one of these wires on my cheese board for three and a half months now, and I use it to slice cheddar cheese at least once a day. Today the first wire broke, which I think is not so bad. I installed a new wire pretty quickly this time. I hesitated to buy these wires because I didn't know if they'd fit my old cheese board. They did fit and I'm glad I took a chance. There are instructions how to install the wires on the back of the package they came in, but I couldn't figure out what the instructions meant, even though they were written in good English. I looked at other customers' instructions in the questions section here and I still could not understand. All this despite the fact that I've replaced the wire before, with the spare that originally came with my cheese board, using reason and common sense. I finally got it this time sort of by accident. I hadn't realized that in spite of the wire being at a 90 degree angle to the board, the wire turns 90 degrees when you just tighten the knob. I still don't quite know why, but I'm happily slicing cheese again for the first time in months.

These replacement wires will work for any marble top cheese slicer that is 5 inches wide. The package comes with wire installation instructions but I also added mine below. Unscrew marble handle B from retaining nut C ('stainless steel donut') and remove the D shaped arm away from the cheese slicer. Remove old wire from the D shape arm A. Slide base of D shape arm A into bottom of cheese slicer and loop one end of the new wire around the the groove at the base of the arm A. Slip the other end of the wire onto the threads of the marble handle (B). Screw the marble handle back onto retaining nut C. Position the new wire on the bottom of the retaining nut C. Slide retaining nut C onto arm A and swing the arm A down to aligning wire in groove Tighten wire by adjusting angle of marble handle B and tighten the marble handle clockwise. When the wire is taut, screw in handle until it locks against arm A through the retaining nut C. Store the remaining new wires in the original package and note the location on a piece of paper (small sticky note) at the bottom of the cheese slicer.

You've got to have a cheese slicer with a cutting wire ("blade") like this. Unfortunately it is only a question of time until it breaks. You can make your cutting wire last longer by gently cutting your cheese. But it will still eventually break. We use a slicer we bought from Sur la Table. Their solution for replacing a wire is just to buy a new slicer. I love Sur la Table but that is not an acceptable answer. These replacement wires are. I just bought one set to make sure it fit. It does, it installed easily, and I just gave it the acid test of slicing some cheese ... and it did so nicely. And I just ordered another set of replacement wires just to make sure I never have to use a knife on cheese again.

The product is 5.5", well shy of the 6.5" or 7" needed for my cheese slicer. I was OK with that and started to hunt for a longer wire. The seller does not allow returns. I have grown accustomed to amazons great return policy, and this third party seller does not allow returns for ANY reason. For that reason alone, I would avoid buying from this seller. Buyer beware.

Wire Dimensions: From tip to tip = 5-3/4" long (maybe 1/16" less than that) Working length = 5" (this is the straight part of the wire -- inside the two loops) The end loops (eyelets) are 1/4" Inside Diameter. My cheese slicer was not the one mentioned in the ad, but the wire mounting contraption was built the same way with the rounded/grooved area for setting the wire and then tightening with the loop in the handle post. My slicer measures 5 inches deep. The distance from the center of the rear mounting post to the front arm is about 5-1/8". I believe these wires will fit just about any cheese slicer with a base which is 5" deep, where the wires mount the same way. Keep in mind the 1/4" loops on the end. All 4 wires in my package had exactly the same dimensions. When installing don't overstretch or the new wire will "pop" -- like a guitar string. Now that I know these wires fit --- I'll get a couple of more packages (for a lifetime supply.)
