I don't have to pull them down but I like the added warmth and don't care to look like a long shoreman nor a hipster. After many wears and a washing they seem to be holding up well. Great hat. I was surprised with the quality. Fits nice and snug, and is warm without being too much. If I really wanted to critique something: it's just a touch bigger than I was expecting for a fisherman beanie. The hat hits at the very top of my ears, which isn't a huge deal. With that said, I would definitely re-purchase if I lost the hat or decided I wanted other colors.
