I have a 12-year-old and a 9-year-old, and I ordered this in the 20" size thinking it MUST fit at least one of them. The good news is it's slightly bigger than the 12-year-old's current bike. To be fair, they're both a little shrimpy for their ages, but they're good kids. My wife said she always wanted a BMX bike when she was a kid but her dad wouldn't let her have one and she said she was likely to steal this one from the kids since BMX bikes are supposed to be small, anyway. She assembled it because she's the handy one between the two of us, and honestly, I know next to nothing about bikes, I don't even know how to ride one. She was super impressed with how easy it was to assemble, all she had to do was put on the handlebars, pedals, and the seat. Everything else came fully assembled, which she was pleasantly surprised by, and all you need to put it together are the two included Allen wrenches. After putting it together, we're both very impressed with the look of the bike; my wife made comments like, "it's Darth Vader in bike form," and "it looks like a stealth fighter." We got the black, and we both appreciate the minimalist branding that RoyalBaby chose to go with-- maybe if you have a Mongoose you want the name plastered all over the bike, but RoyalBaby went with a small, tasteful logo on the front that leaves the rest of the bike looking super sleek. The tires are super squishy and bouncy and it's large enough to give both of our kids room to grow into. I honestly wasn't sure whether a 20" or a 24" would be better for our kids, because like I said, I know nothing about bikes, but the 12 year old is probably about 56" tall and his old bike, which fit him just fine, is a little shorter than this one. This also has bars on both the front and back wheels which are great for tricks or carrying multiple people on your bike. My wife even noted that the underside of the front of the seat is somewhat ergonomic, making it easy to grab by the seat, or potentially do tricks on. I don't think our kids are quite those sorts of daredevils, but it's nice to have, and I think the whole think looks super badass. The kid is very excited to get back to our house since my wife sent him pictures of the bike, and overall we're delighted with it so far. ... show more

This 24" BMX Cruiser has a well-constructed and sturdy aluminum frame in the classic BMX style. It has a mature, clean look uncluttered by silly graphic treatments, which I appreciate. The assembly is nearly complete straight out of the box needing only to attach the pedals, handlebars to gooseneck and foot pegs to axles. It's a pretty basic, no-frills entry level bike with plenty room to upgrade should you get the itch to do so (thinking seat, crank set, bars, grips). While this is advertised as a freestyle bike don't plan on doing bar spins unless you upgrade to a brake gyro or similar option, or remove the brakes altogether. Judging value is more and more difficult these days with inflation and newly imposed tariffs etc… but I think this bike offers a fair value around the $300 mark. ... show more

This bike is really cool. I got the Midnight Black one, and it is really awesome looking. My kid has been riding for a while, so he is pretty knowledgeable too, but he only has one issue. First off, the frame is listed as “carbon steel,” which is just a fancy way to say high-tensile steel. Hi-ten steel is cheaper than the better option, chromoly, but also not as strong, so manufacturers usually use much thicker tubing to keep the frame from snapping. That leads to a heavier weight, as seen with this bike. It is fairly heavy, but honestly, that is the only real issue. The bike is very sleek and very cool-looking with the blackout-style design, and it’s pretty well built. The pegs are solid and remove easily, the kickstand is eh, alright, the chain seems decent, and the drivetrain is solid. Honestly, it’s all-around just a pretty decent BMX bike. Not exactly top of the line, but still pretty good. It is mostly assembled out of the box, but you still need to make a few adjustments. It’s nothing at all if you are familiar with bikes, and honestly, even if you aren’t, it’s pretty easy. Overall, yeah, it’s a pretty decent little BMX bike! ... show more

You know how some reviews are just a thoughtless 5-stars because it was good enough? Well, this is actually an extremely deserving 5-star review. First of all, it comes extremely well packaged and mostly assembled. It only took about 20 minutes MAX to put this thing together and although the instructions could've been better, basic common sense is enough to get you through it pretty easily. Also includes all the tools which is always nice. But how well does it work when it's all together? Very. Thing feels like a tank and something you'd never have to worry about as long as your kid is of the age to still be using it. It's branded as durable and I can say with confidence that it is. It costs a bit, sure... But you're getting what you pay for, I promise. I'd point out a flaw if I could, seriously... But there are none that I can think of! ... show more

We went with the red steel variant, which feels quite strong yet is still easy for a little rider to handle. The freestyle design gives my youngster the courage to practice tricks, jumps, and basic stunts. The bike runs easily, the brakes work nicely, and the whole thing feels well made. Putting it together was easy, and the directions were easy to follow. The bike's color and style make my youngster even more excited to ride it. The tires do well on a variety of surfaces, from neighborhood streets to playgrounds. It's light enough to move about easily, yet heavy enough to make you feel safe while you do stunts. ... show more
