  • Consistent quality and my dog loves it!
Size: 30 Pound (Pack of 1)
I’ve been using Royal Canin Size Health Nutrition for over a yea for my medium-sized boston terrier, and I can really see the difference. His coat looks shinier, she’s more energetic, and her digestion has been great since switching. The kibble size is perfect — not too big or small — and she actually gets excited when I open the bag (which didn’t happen with her old food). The packaging reseals nicely, keeping it fresh, and I appreciate that the ingredients are tailored to size-specific needs rather than just a “one-formula-fits-all” approach. It’s definitely more expensive than supermarket brands, but the results and my dog’s health make it worth it. ... show more

  • Really, for the money, nothing much better for your Best Friend.
Size: 30 Pound (Pack of 1)
I have a best friend called Lucy. She's a 5 year old Blue Heeler. Half Blue Merrill and half Dingo bred in Australia in around 1873 . They are very protective, excellent guard dogs. She really loves this food. I have had all my life a dog or more. I've never seen a dog go this long with the same ambitious appetite for Royal Canine Dog Food. I give her the medium adult dog food. Special food is given every 4 days a week with real meat, not from the grocery store, if I can eating a bacon wrapped filet mignon, so is she, a complete 6 Oz. Piece of meat. Cooked whole chicken, no bad food for dogs. No human food, ugh! No chocolate or junk food, vet says she is in perfect health. Still will round up cattle and sheep. I love my Dog, Lucy. ... show more

  • Great food, even for my sensitive dogs, but craptacular bag
Size: 30 Pound (Pack of 1)
We now have three dogs on Royal Canin, our two and my dad's. All are rescues of unknown origin, so breed-specific isn't for us, but this plain old medium-dog works fine for all of them. My dad's little beagle-ish thing (Ollie) has been on a Purina product all his life, and did fine on it. However, we came for an extended visit and our dogs have food issues, so we had to put them all on the same thing, since they WILL eat out of any bowl they can get their snouts into. My border collie-ish thing (Lia) originally did fine on a Purina product as well, and never had any issues, but I got the Talking-To from the Dog People about slowly murdering my dog with it, so we tried Blue products. Those really did HURT her. The cattle dog-ish one (Charlie) just had soft stools, but Lia got weeping sores on her feet and ankles and didn't have a solid bowel movement for a month. We never thought of the food for the sores (panic attack over alleged ringworm instead), but took them both off. A while later, they both were a little constipated, and I still had some Blue around, so I threw it in the bowl. IMMEDIATELY Lia got sores on her feet and ankles again. No more Blue for us. We then used Nutro products for quite some time. Lia was always fine on those, but Charlie had reflux issues. Since we hadn't had him very long at that time, we thought it was just his stomach and had him on vet acid reducers. We ended up switching to RC because the kennel we used at the time for VERY frequent travel feeds RC, and it was frankly easier just to switch them than to haul our food so they could be fed something different to prevent switching back and forth. As it turns out, little Charlie has FAR fewer stomach issues and no longer needs the medicine. Ollie is an older guy with some arthritis and allergy issues. He seems to do better generally on the RC, and has more energy. It's a large-ish size kibble for medium dogs in my opinion, but I'm assuming there's some reason for that - perhaps they need to actually crunch the kibble in order to help clean their teeth or some such thing. The bag annoys me to no end. It's allegedly resealable. It is NOT, at least not without a great deal of time and trouble. If I'm paying $50 for a bag of dog food, you can put a decent zipper on the top. Basically, prospective buyers, you WILL need a bag clip for this, and a large one at that since the bag material is pretty inflexible. ... show more

  • Super Food
Size: 30 Pound (Pack of 1)
Our dogs are more our children than our pets. They are our life. When my sister in law called to tell me the kibble company that we had trusted for years had been sold to another owner and they were sourcing their ingredients from China, I knew we needed to find another brand. I called our vet and she recommended Royal Canin because that is what she feeds her dog. As we actually dog sit for our vet and know her dog is a lovely animal I was happy to switch. Royal Canin is a great company. They have vet scientists on staff and they do feeding trials. These are the things people need to look for when searching for a new kibble. When we switched from our old brand, which will remain nameless, we did it over two weeks. Our Aussies love the Royal Canin. They are both seniors - 7 and 13 years old - and we decided to feed the both the 7+. On their old kibble they had a few minor dry skin issues and our youngest Aussie had just been diagnosed with very minor kidney failure. Both girls are a healthy weight and exercise daily. After being on the Royal Canin for six months we had blood work done on both girls and we were absolutely stunned at the results. Not only were our youngest Aussie's kidney results normal, but our oldest's liver function was better too. Both girls' coats have improved dramatically. Our vet was so impressed she asked what we were doing differently. We were concerned about weight gain because we switched food during the winter when our girls still get exercise with indoor ball and some short outdoor walks, but not nearly as much running and walking as they get in the spring and fall during dog park season. Both girls maintained their weight. I would highly recommend Royal Canin. We feed the wet food on lick mats and in frozen food toys and the dry kibble along with a probiotic twice daily. ... show more
