On our veterinarian’s recommendation, we have been feeding our schnauzer Royal Canin breed specific dry dog food since he outgrew Royal Canin puppy food. When I asked the veterinarian about food supplements or vitamins, he said the kibble alone contained all the nutrients our dog needs.     • Stopped the itching

My pup has an allergy and I tried multiple different dog foods and was at my breaking point. He was constantly itchy and scratching. I tried this feed and he no longer has the issue. Many of the other brands I tried he wouldn't eat and when he did, he would itch to the point of taking out his hair. It took almost a week, but the itching stopped and he eats his whole bowl of food without giving me that 'look' of why did you give me this garbage. ... show more

    • I thought this was ok until tonight's reaction...

Update: $300 later in vet bills. Oliver had some type of allergic reaction to this bag. This was my fourth bag of the Schnauzer formula from RC since Nov 2018. No problems with the first three...even added it to Subscription service because my local store doesn't always stock it. However, the most recent bag delivered early April 2019 is either a different formula or something is wrong with it. From the very first feeding my dog reluctantly ate it. He only get 3/4 cup 2x/day and he barely ate half which is highly unusual. He has to have one of the special slowdown bowls because he normally inhales everything within seconds. And that was my first red flag. I should have just stopped right there, but thinking it was a fluke I fed another day. Same response...very slow to finish his serving...literally walked away and would come back for a few bits and then walk away. Damn me for not throwing it out of the bowl. He started acting lethargic that night. We normal walk 7-8 miles a day. I had to carry him home after less than 1/2 mile. I noticed he was scratching his side later that evening. He never does that but it wasn't apronounced scratching....yet. Day 3: he threw up, refused to eat, excessive thirst, not pooping, scratching his flank like crazy, doesn't want to go out, broke out in hives requiring a quick nightly call to my vet tech to administer Benedryl, started licking and biting paws before the pill kicked in. He finally knocked out most likely due to the Benedryl. I woke him up after making a pot of chicken and rice in the slow cooker...guess what? Gobbled that right up. He was hungry but not for this new bag. So, not sure wtf happened here. I am going to hold the bag in storage until I make sure he's ok and it doesn't need to me analyzed. With all the dog food recalls going on and this sudden change/reaction I don't feel good about it. I canceled our Subscription and contacted Amazon for a full refund. Anyone else have the same or similar reaction recently??? If so please comment. This scares me and frankly I am frustrated because just going to the vet is going to cost over $65 for an exam plus whatever else he needs. That's a lot of money for just 3-3/4 cups of kibble over the course of a few days. I am just glad we caught it before something worse happened. Pay attention. ... show more

Liked this product so was willing to pay the $56 price for a 10 lb. bag which is in line with Petsmart and Petco. Went back on Amazon and saw that it is available by only one vendor at $84 for a 10 lb. bag. No thank you! Checked Petsmart and Petco web sights and it is still $56. Update: Price has been back in line with PetSmart at $61 for a while now. ... show more

Lástima! El produto es excelente, ya lo compre 8 veces seguidas y siempre me llega muy bien. Pasa que, la bolsa que me llego última ves, estaba dañada, se sentia el olor de la comida sin abrir él velcro, estaba abierta en la lateral y trate de llamar varias veces para arreglar esto y nunca me devolvieron la llamada. Es una lástima, pues no puedo dar una comida sospechosa a mi bebé, sin saber si ratas estuvieron por ahí.
