The media could not be loaded. I liked the kit and the finished product looks and works well, but there were significant problems. Some parts, particularly those associated with the functional keyboard, do not fit well and corrections are necessary for functionality. For example, the final two gears driving the keyboard mechanism bind requiring one of the gears to be resized to work. Due to wrong hinge for the job, the top doesn't fit well and the whole project is fragile. Still, with good skills and patience, a beautiful "working" piano can be built. I’ve done several of these 3D wooden puzzles, I’d say this is small-medium difficulty. The results are spectacular! Just like in the video of the seller. It’s absolutely beautiful! It can be quite delicate though, so I suggest taking it slow. Overall it was well worth the buy!!! Can’t wait for them to bring out more “magical” musical instruments! ... show more

This wooden puzzle can definitely improve parent-child activities. My children and I are working on it every day, and it can also improve children's hands-on ability. I highly recommend it!

Fun wooden model with music. Took a few hours to put together. There are plenty of extra pieces for those of us who are clumsy and break small pieces. Both my son and daughter love the music box part.

    • Review: RoWood Piano Kit Exec Summary: Bring your patience, but recommended!
I've been on the hunt for a new hobby and this is the second wood model kit I've built. This one took me maybe 5 hours and I'm satisfied with the result. It built a miniature piano which is now sitting on a real piano (meta!) and it was a gift for my son. The good things about the kit: -The parts are well machined and sturdy enough that you can get them off the wood sheets intact. They may be a little delicate when applying them to model, so no forcing anything. If you are needing to apply force, you're likely doing it wrong. -The directions are excellent. -The final product looks good, I'd like to paint it and could use some guidance from the manufacturers on how to best do that. Right now, it looks like what it is, a bunch of laser cut parts that make a piano. The less than good -Putting it together requires patience and the ability to work between days. It took me maybe 5 hours to build this, but it was strewn over two weekends and I was constantly playing catchup on what I'd done before. -I got this to work on with my grandkids. They lost interest about 30 mins in, but I kept at it. Its now a hobby for me and something for them to notice and say 'Cool!' before moving on. -This is not a big footprint item, but I can foresee if you dig into the hobby, you're going to need a big footprint to show 'em off. Not necessarily a negative but may be of limited interest to others (my wife has NO interest in it). All in all, a solid, satisfying hobby. It takes time and patience but rewards those that have both and I recommend it! ... show more
