Works as described. My heavy tailgate now opens without me having to use two hands. One to unlatch & another to deaden the hard fall of the tailgate. Installation requires no special tools & all necessary parts for installing were included. I would recommend this product.

The product itself is great, but it did not come with one screw that was very important to install it. It’s probably my fault since I bought the used good as new one, but if I would’ve known it was missing hardware obviously I would’ve spent the extra three dollars and bought the new one. I didn’t know I needed this, it really is a game changer for when I have a ton of baseball stuff and my hands full, I don’t have to worry about the tailgate slamming down. Not good Quality. Missing parts to install tailgate rivet . Bought a cheap one the same time for my grandson. Much better quality good powder coating everything there.
