I initially purchase rOtring 600 from another reputable pen site for husband. It was a nice pen and I wanted to get one for myself. The pen came in a rectangular box vs the triangular box. The tactile press also wasn't as nice as the one I got for my husband. Aside from those two differences, the pen appears to be the same. Be careful buying from Amazon. I received the pen already pressed down (tip exposed), so I don't think I received a brand new pen. However, I used a gift card and the pen was on Prime Day sale, so I'm not mad. ... show more

I like pens. I also like fountain pens. My favorite being the Mont Blanc 149. I also have the Mont Blanc M, which is part of my EDC. However, I needed something for work. Something robust and fun to use. I’ve read a bunch a reviews on the rotring and how nearly everyone loves them, but I dismissed them at first. Not sure why. Maybe it was because of all those glowing reviews that it sounded too good to be true? So I went through a few other pens and was not happy with them and then I finally reread the reviews on the rotring 600 and ordered it for myself. It’s pencil like it size which surprised me. I thought it would be a little thicker, but it has nice feel and heft regardless of the size. The clicker was very positive and had a nice feel. I wasn’t happy with the included ink cartridge, so I ordered the Xezo ones. The cartridge utterly transformed the writing experience. Much smoother than the original. The ink just glides onto the paper. Fantastic! The rotring and the Xezo are a great combination. I am so impressed with the 600, that I am eyeing the 800 as well ... show more

I replaced the actual ballpoint pen refill with the itoya gel ink refills and the itoya work so much better as far as writing smoothness goes and the black ink being darker too

I'm a big fan of the Swiss Caran d'Ache ball point pen, so I was intrigued by the German pen when it appeared on Prime Day. I was VERY pleased and tempted to say I like it even better than the Caran d'Arche - time will tell. Neither company is giving their product away, so I'll wait for the sales.

I love the look and hexagonal barrel of this pen. Liking thinner pens, this is very much in inline with my tastes. However, I'm disappointed to see that the color is wearing off in spots. Mind you, I haven't had this pen for long and it's been used very little. I can only imagine that the wear has come from removing and replacing it from the pen sleeve in my backpack. Also, the included ink cartridge is poor -- scratchy and prone to skipping. Thankfully, it takes a standard G2 style refill, so I was able to swap that out. ... show more
