Good Construction and design. Great airflow, so coals were ready sooner than the instructions said. Handle never got hot, but of course it's safer to use a good heat glove. I live in Texas, so I grill year around, which means it will be used about 100 times in the coming year. I'll come back in six months and give another review. Purchased this as a replacement for several of the lesser quality charcoal starters that I have bought over the years. This unit is heavy duty, well made, and stainless steel. Pricey yes.. but not when you factor in lifelong usage in comparison. I’m buying another one for our lake house.

For MANY years I have been using a Weber RapidFire chimney, which works great. However, the RapidFire does not last very long - after a few years it becomes very warped, the seams/welds/rivets burst, etc., so I have to buy a new one every 2 - 3 years. It is made of aluminized steel, not stainless steel. Reviews on the Rösle state that it is stainless steel and built more durably. I can confirm this is true - this thing is built like a tank. It is also has a slightly larger capacity than the RapidFire, which I prefer. I have only used it twice so far, but my initial thoughts are that it will last for years. It has the same features as the RapidFire that I enjoy - the helper handle for dumping the charcoal, big capacity, works as designed, etc. It is just built better. Think of it as a better RapidFire. For twice the price. That increased quality comes with a cost - the RapidFire is going for $27 on Amazon and the Rösle goes for $62. Will it the Rösle last twice as long as the RapidFire so that it is a comparable value? Maybe. I am willing to give it a chance, especially since I prefer the Rösle's slightly larger capacity. ... show more

I have had 3-4 Webber chimney starters and an Oklahoma Joe XL (which I like) but this one is superb. Holds almost 2x as much charcoal is really well made and looks like it will last forever unlike the galvanized ones. This one may be more than 2x the price but it’s 10x the value

More than being stainless, the design is fabulous, very open bottom lets air circulate freely and speeds up the process. It was expensive, but I would buy it again for the time it saves me and the longevity I will get out of it.
