The material is actually blackout! The internal pattern is nice. The window backing side is white and HOA safe. The only light is from the gromets at the top, but I like this look.

I purchased these for a baby nursery and was very skeptical that white curtains could actually be blackout. However I was amazed that these are incredibly effective at blocking the light. The material is thick, and true to description. Also feel that it was a great value for the price. They aren’t the most decorative, more on the simple side which may be pro for some. I think the greatest selling point is how very functional/practical they are and the value is great. A few tips, 1) Get a curtain rod that doesn’t stick out as much as this one to prevent as much light escaping from above or hang it as close to your ceiling as possible. 2) When this came it had LOTS of wrinkles. Open it as soon as possible and lay it out flat. I also used this higher end steamer (pic included - also an Amazon purchase) and it did a great job of removing the wrinkles. Removing the wrinkles really improved the aesthetic appearance of the drapes. I felt the material didn’t look as cheap once the wrinkles were removed. These are beautiful drapes, graceful and elegant, especially if puddled a bit on the floor; look more expensive than what they cost. I ordered them in Natural and, unfortunately, the color is a shade or two darker than in the photo. Otherwise, would have loved them.

I purchased these drapes to go across sliding doors in the living room that are opposite the TV. In the day the room is bright. The light makes it difficult to watch TV. I like the simplicity of having only the two drapes to easily slide across the bar closed or open. However, adding in another set of two panels would be better to fill in the sides in the middle or late does peek through. They are a really nice weight, they are backed with a white lining. The natural color is definitely darker than what I saw in the photos. It works for me though. I would like a shade lighter, but the darker material probably also helps with filtering out more light. The length is a bit long. I wish there was an option between the 80-something length and the 96 that I bought. I am not a fan of the paddling affect on the floor as the drapes just drag around and get filled with dust. I am wondering if I wash them if they might shrink up from the bottom a tiny bit more so I don’t have to hem them. That would be a job because the lining doesn’t come to the same bottom length as the front and they are sewn together on the sides. ... show more
