This shelf unit is very sturdy, well manufactured, and easy to assemble. I purchased four for my basement pantry and they are holding up to the weight of canned goods, large bags of rice, etc. I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Tools required to assemble should have included a rubber mallet. a pair of scissors to cut zip ties and boxes, and a second set of hands. The assembly kit includes a pair of gloves (novel, but I did not end up using them) and a plastic hammer that did absolutely nothing. The structure is metal and adjustable. As you can see from the picture, there are supports in the middle of each shelf. I absolutely plan to purchase more of these in the future as they are more sturdy than my wire racks at the same (or less in some cases) price. Only downside is that these shelves are well suited to basements and garages and are not decorative. ... show more

So much better than the stuff you can get at Home Depot, Menard or Lowes. Very sturdy. The connection between the top section and the bottom is 1000x better that the small link pieces on the cheep stuff. I wish I would have had this before building the other six racks that I already have.

Would have given 5 stars but they are not heavy duty, or what I would call heavy duty. They are super easy to put together and come with a little plastic hammer that is useless for hammering.LOL. But hey. They are perfect for what we needed them for some 5 gal tote storage. They are light weight enough to be able to move if needed. For the price you cannot beat it. You’re not going to be able to store heavy car parts, machinery, tools, etc on it. The shelves are made of 1/4” manufactured wood so without the middle supports they would eventually sag. But again for the price, they cant be beat. Same set up at Harbor Freight or Walmart is going to run around 100$. ... show more

Terrible quality. They are not stable or sturdy. They do not even match in height and they have a weird smell. I would return but I am so mad about the time I wasted I don’t even want to spend time to take them apart. On the curb for bulk trash day.
