I like this bag. I can serve multiple purposes, not just DJ equipment and cables. However, the interior space is limited use as half has fixed/non-removable or adjustable dividers. So if you want to put some bulky equipment, deck or speaker in, you only have half the interior space to work with. The other half with velcro you can insert adjustable dividers if all you need is Vinyl or cable organization. There are numerous other pockets, inside and out that are great for organization. The bag itself is lightweight, but durable. Good quality construction and smooth zippers work fine. You can fold it all up into a fairly small package for storing when not needed. You can use the bag with or without the wheeled cart.

This is very roomy inside - it has five stationary pockets and then it has four movable partitions to make five more compartments of various sizes. It also comes with a firm folding insert to make the bottom more sturdy. The top zippered flap has two mesh zippered compartments on the inside for holding smaller and thinner items. There is also a mesh unzippered pocket on each side of the outside of the bag. There are two smaller pockets next to the stationary flaps inside the bag. These could hold items such as microphones. There are a few quirks… The back of the bag has a sewn-in flap with a Velcro flap on top - but the sewn-in flap is not large enough to go over the retractable handle. You would have to use the Velcro flaps for that. The Velcro flaps are very tight and don't quite overlap entirely. It just seems like it would be more sturdy and safe to have the sewn-in flap fit the handle. It would also be very helpful if the retractable handle snapped into place. As it is, it tends to flop over on top of the bag, which is not ideal for loading and unloading. Other good points: it does have a separate pouch for a laptop or iPads. Not only is this good for a DJ, but I think it would be very useful for a solo musician who has to carry things like cables, pedals, iPads, microphones, etc. It is a ballistic nylon type material, which I would assume is weather resistant. All in all, it would make transporting your equipment a lot easier than carrying it in an assortment of different bags so I’m happy to have it!

This bag looks like it wants to be a pro-level gear hauler, but it falls short. The materials are cheaper than they should be for the price point, and the dividers don’t actually help much when it comes to organizing cables. The included trolley is probably where most of the cost went, and that’s fine, but this bag should be twenty bucks cheaper to make sense. Still, it beats carrying a cardboard box full of tangled cords, but only barely. This thing should cost at least 20 less than it does.

The Rolling DJ Cable File Bag with Detachable Trolley is a terrific gig bag/organizer. Storing audio cables and small to medium sized bits of recording equipment has been a perennial problem. This gig bag gets an A+ for organization. It has several fixed dividers and several removable ones that velcro in place. My before and after photos show how cables and other items had been stored in a jumble inside a plastic container, and how everything fits neatly into the bag. The moveable dividers stay in place and everything is organized. So now when I want to pull out a 1/4" TRS cable, I can pull one out in a couple seconds from the divider for 1/4" TRS cables rather than rummaging through the old plastic container. The organizer's material feels substantial. If I were going to transport electronics like a laptop or audio interface inside this organizer, I would use additional protection like a neoprene sleeve or some bubble wrap. I don't transport my kit often, so I can't comment on durability. However, the bag feels manageable and comfortable using either the handles or detachable shoulder strap. The separate, folding dolly is very light weight and rolls easily over interior floors--no idea how it does on pavement or thick carpeting.

This is a very serviceable bag. I would not call it a multi-use bag however due to how flimsy it is. It's soft and pliable enough to be easily folded and tucked out of the way but that also creates a negative. As a part-time roadie, I would not trust this with heavy duty cables. But, it has slots that are designed and permanently affixed so you can't really use it for other things. It is a single purpose bag that does not do its purpose entirely well in my opinion. I would give it lower scores but if you can overcome the permanent slots it is serviceable. The dolly feature is really handy when moving heavy things but I just really wish the slots weren't there at times. If it continues to annoy me I may just cut them out to get full of usage of the bag.
