This is a great pandemic project if you have free time. I made this over a two month period. Each step took two to three times as long as I thought it would. This project gave me the feeling of accomplishing something for the day as I finished each piece. This kit is very clever and someone’s labor of love. Mine had all the pieces. There were a few very slightly warped wooden pieces but nothing that was a problem. I was concerned about whether there would be enough glue so I used my own Elmer’s Glue All to make all the paper, and paper and wood books. I was glad I did this. There are a lot of books! I think the Elmer’s Glue was easier to use anyway for paper. The project glue in my kit was very good with the wood and metal parts, as well as paper, and did not have a smell. I also was very glad I had a small desktop battery operated OttLite with a magnifier on it. Here are my recommendations. 1. Read through the whole instruction book carefully before you begin. 2. Make the wood and paper books first thing while you are enthusiastic. This would have been a drag at the end. 3. Do not make the first large bookcase in the instructions first. It is the most complicated. Instead begin with an easy one like cabinet 5. 4. Verify the parts for each piece with the part number illustration papers. Very important. Also, it may have guide marks you need to make on the wood. 5. Fit the pieces together before gluing to figure out where to put the glue and to be sure you’ve got it right. 6. This project takes a LOT of patience. 7. If you are not patient, or if you are a perfectionist (this is not perfect), or if it bothers you it is made of wood, paper and cloth do not buy this. 8. Do not buy this for a child. Even at 14 I think the child would get very frustrated and perhaps lose interest due to how much work is involved. 9. The paint will not give you a solid white wall. It will look a bit rustic. I tried artists’ tube acrylic white paint and it did not work either. I finally used artists’ white gesso but I don’t recommend buying it if you don’t have any. 10. The kit comes in a great box for storing the project parts. 11. The lamp! It will work if you put it together right. I just didn’t have the skill. I would say it takes a person experienced with doing this kind of thing. I read the instructions many times and examined parts and tried very hard. I ended up cutting off the wires and just fabricating the lamp which was hard enough. I spend 9 hours over three days. I glued it in place. Once I had the bookcases filled, I thought it didn’t look good – too large for the scale and very busy. So I removed it. 12. The end product is very cute.

The quality of this product is surprisingly really good for the price! All the pieces were really well cut. There were very few pieces that didn't fit as well as they could have but we made it work. The instructions were fairly clear. There were some things that weren't completely clear on the instruction but with some common sense and ingenuity, it wasn't that bad. If you purchase this, please look for a nozzle for the glue bottle because, it isn't mentioned. It helps because of the fine gluing that takes place. We noticed what it even was, a little late into the project, as the documents never mentioned it. It would have been nice to have known. I would have also liked to have seen better material for the little bags for the various breads that you see one has to make. The material wasn't great for that, nor do they explain clearly what plastic you are to use. Use the pictures for reference often because at times the writing isn't clear on what you need but the pictures help. It was fun though to work through the challenges of the unclarity. Overall, I think this was a great purchase. I made this with my elderly mother. Lots of fun.

DiY Library. Very cute. A lot of different pieces. You don't have to build all the furniture. It's actually whatever you want to build. If you build all the furniture it is a packed room and you have to build more books to fill all of the shelves. There are several different ways to set this up. I wish I would have known this in the beginning. My husband helped build alot of these pieces for me. The books are basically little square pieces of wood various sizes and you cut and glue the paper templates on them. I actually had scrap pieces of material that I made some covers out of and used some extra jewelry and button pieces to make accent pieces on the books. I also used spray paint for the walls and the floor. You can completely customize this to however you like. This is a perfect rainy day project and I absolutely adore this piece. It is very time consuming and tedious, but once you finish, it's well worth it.

This is my third rolife dollhouse, I absolutely love them. This one seems easy at first, and I love the precut shapes for the flowers and stuff… but actually putting the thing together?? None of the holes lined up and I had to cut the notches off of the orange shelf just so it would stay on the wall. The floor seemed to have notches in completely different places than the holes on the walls. I also didn’t realize I flipped the base when glueing it and glued the rock path to the wrong side lol. The instructions on this one were a lot harder to follow than the other two I’ve done so far. I definitely should have done a few more before trying this one. I watched a couple building videos and they also had difficulty assembling but their parts still fit together so I’m unsure what I did wrong. Anyways, this one takes way less time, however is way more challenging.

This is a wonderful kit and provides hours of thoughtful activity for anyone looking to quiet their mind. My teenager daughter gets off her phone and spends many quiet evenings working on these miniatures. The bakery in particular is extremely detailed and makes such a cute finished model to set up on a bookcase. Very happy with this purchase, I do wish they were a little less expensive for such a small model, however.
