Pay attention to the orientation of each individual shelf and the direction of the holes when you start assembly. Directions are not super clear. Great book shelf when assembled correctly. Also, I gave 4 stars because each individual piece has a numbered sticker that is a pain in the a** to remove without leaving sticky residue on the shelves. ... show more

I like the pattern but I had to buy more tools from Home Depot to secure. If you don’t secure it to the wall it will fall.Glad no one was around when it fell. It was cracked around the holes as you see it on the second picture and we fixed it.

Overall easy to put together and sturdy shelving. Had to return as the the backing had brackets only on the back and dowels were too short. Suggestion for designer is for an additional set of brackets in the front side of the backing and larger dowels and deeper holes for more actual support.

The wood is nice, I like that this bookshelf does not take up much room. My rating is based on the poor instructions compared to my previous bookshelf. The Rolanstar website states an assembly time of 15-minutes. I don't see anyone getting it done in that time even using a power tool. I did it all by hand which was also painful. ... show more

The directions must be followed carefully. If you do not follow them carefully, then your shelf will be a mess. If it is on carpet, it will need to be anchored to the wall.
